If you like to watch it as BL, you sure are free to.. but I didn't feel it this way so my review is purely based on drama not the novel... The drama is not officially titled as BL..nor there are confessions in it... if you don't believe you can check it out yourself...

I think, it's just like Bai Jue.. he will disappear forever and his soul scattered in the three realms and he'll be gone forever.. just like A'Yin.. A'Yin came back to life because of Yuan Qi's soul seal and her being a part of Feng Yin's spirit, which needs to return to wake her up... But this is not the case with Yuan Qi as his soul is not in fragments but as whole and not has to return for the purpose to wake someone up... So it'll be scattered and he will eventually die... This is just my speculation... after seeing ALP and TLI...
