Such a bizarre ending to what was a pretty good crime investigation show. The last 3-5 minutes felt slapped together, and then a random 3-year timeskip 60 seconds before the credits roll. I feel like they didn't have time or money to properly wrap up the story properly so they just cobbled something together last minute.
Is there actually any official news about this or is it just speculation? I couldn’t find any reliable source stating a second season was definitely happening.
I finished it but rated 4 just for the secondary couple. Main couple was just not working for me. I understand…
I had the opposite reaction. I stuck it out for the main couple because I was a puddle of happy goo for Son Gyeom, and because I liked the side characters like the secretary, Yeong Hwa (in his scenes without Dan Ah), and Gyeom's two friends from the sprinter team. The homosexual guy who was Yeong Hwa's friend kept me invested too, because I wanted to see how his story would turn out. The Yeong Hwa / Dan Ah couple lost me about halfway through the drama because of their confusingly flowery and vague dialogue and constant seesawing. Not to mention the same damn song played every time they looked at each other and started doing their weird version of flirtation. I began to hate that tune. Overall, I thought the drama wasn't bad, but it was a bit boring sometimes and the ending was not quite as good as what I had hoped for. Some plotlines were wrapped up nicely, but others were left unresolved which really bothered me.
I found out about him through a fanvid on youtube, they used his "Stay Here" song for a kdrama couple I liked, and I found his ost's for Time and Terius Behind Me. When his OST for The Last Empress was released, I bought that too. I didn't know he did one for Itaewon Class, I'll have to check that out.
God I hate this drama more and more the further I get into it. Joo won is just such a terrible human being and…
I feel you. I had to drop this drama as well, around episode 11, because I couldn’t find anything I liked about the main couple. I actually spent more time hoping the girl would destroy the main lead’s manhood than kiss him. The only character I really liked was Oska.
i wanted to watch this drama because it was filmed in my hometown (lisbon) but the comments are scaring me...…
It has a great start, a muddy middle, and a disappointing end. It's a very divisive drama because some people view it as art, and others as a mess of bad writing. It's really up to you to decide how you feel about it; I personally would never watch it again.
I have such mixed feelings about this drama. I watched it as it was airing, and enjoyed it a lot. However, a lot of my joy got sucked out as the story dragged on and it became clear that they had run out of ideas. I thought there would be more evil ghosts than just The Red Woman, but because they stuck with just her, the plot got very thin very quickly. And don't even get me started about the ending; I still can't forgive them for that mess of a final episode. It makes my blood boil every time I think about how they ruined what could've been a relatively happy ending. I already talked about this in my review that I wrote, though, so I won't say anything else. I would re-watch this purely for Choi Daniel's sexy acting. I love his portrayal of Da Il so much, and the sexual tension between him and Yeo Wool was so good! I want to cry about the wasted potential of this drama. If only the plot had been better, and the resolution less disappointing, I would have put this on my top 20 dramas.
Both What's Wrong With Secretary Kim and Her Private Life had story elements that I just super super disliked that completely tanked my enjoyment of the series around the episode 12 mark, and the last 4 episodes felt like wading through fluffy padding around a story that was pretty much over.
Sadly, I'm just not able to connect with this drama. There's nothing inherently bad about Live Up To Your Name, it's got a good story and well-written characters, and the time travel element is also well done. Maybe it's because I watched this right after my second time through The Fiery Priest, which is such a fun and wild drama. This one feels slower and almost tame in comparison. Plus I've never really liked medical dramas; I've only watched about three.
I rated this a 7.5, because as much as I liked the main couple plotline, as well as the psychopath storyline, I uber-hated the gangster side-story. It got to the point where a good chunk of the later episodes was dedicated to their story, and I hated it. It was funny at the start (and I mean very very start, in episode 1), but then it just became gradually more and more stupid, more and more disgusting, and added absolutely nothing to the plot as a whole. I know South Korea likes it's poop jokes, but this drama just had way too many of them, and almost all of them were in the gangster side-story. I'd say that if the gangster plotline had been dropped or at least reduced significantly, I would've given this drama a much higher rating, because I liked pretty much everything else. On rewatches, I just skip all the scenes with the gangsters except for in the first episode, and when Bong Soon confronts them with Min Hyuk.
So from the articles I've found, the second season is supposed to air sometime in 2022. Apparently on April 6th there was an announcement posted on the front page of Big Ocean ENM's (the production company) website that garnered so much attention the website stopped working, but I cannot find the original announcement on their website, so I'm basing this only on the various articles I found that were posted around the same time.
She’s a beautiful woman. Why does the director want her to be in a drama with old people? Ive been a fan of…
Jo In Sung is one of the most popular male actors in Korea and he's 39, I'm not sure why you're calling him old. Han Hyo Joo is 34, there's only a 5 year difference between them.
Gotta say, I kinda hate how they redeemed the awful dads in the last episode. It was so out of left field, that these scum bags get a somewhat "good" ending. I usually am a proponent of redemption arcs, but this was just so badly done. I wanted them to get their just desserts, let their victims get their justice, but instead one dies peacefully surrounded by his children (one illegitimate son that he constantly favored over his more competent legitimate daughter, and another illegitimate son he never publicly acknowledged), and the other terrible father reconciles with Seon Gyeom (the same man who treated his entire family like objects he owned and could do whatever he wanted with?). I'm sorry, but no thank you. Let Dan-ah finally confront her dad about how he failed her as a father. Let Seon Gyeom's father be miserable in the loneliness he's created for himself. The drama was actually pretty decent, if a bit of a slow-burn, so I was going to give it a higher rating, but that really ruined my enjoyment of the last episode, so it's losing a full star off my original score.
I don't understand why this has such a high rating. I watched half of the series and was either bored or fuming. The only character I legit cared about was Choi Man Soo's character, after he died I dropped it.
I'm having the same problem. I cant' handle her child-like innocence. I'm thinking of dropping this drama. Do…
The secondary couple in this one is the main lead's adopted brother (the very sweet farmer boy) and the veterinarian at the farm. He's oblivious to the fact that she's crushing on him, and she's very tsundere, which means there's a lot of miscommunication but they do end up together at the end.

Sorry I'm replying so late! I don't know if you're still watching the drama at this point, but she does get better. She eventually becomes more self-confident, stands up to people who try to put her down, and even gives Yi Ting a good tongue-lashing or two (not in a sexy way, but I'll take it), and by the end is definitely a decently likable character. She still has that breathy soft voice the very soft round face that makes her look baby-ish, but at least she's not the same strangely ignorant and childlike woman she was at the beginning.
