That's the issue I have with Viki. You pay but you still miss out because by the time they get around to subbing…
Well I get that the subtitling and translations are done by volunteers so we aren't paying for that. Some drama's are faster than others but Love is Science has always taken a while, or usually I like watching things that aren't still airing so I've not encountered it before. But still wondering if people are watching this elsewhere that has subs or just watching the raws.

Near the end of ep 11 there was a past scene where the three youngster's were having drinks. The older teen looks familiar - anyone know this actor's name or which drama he may have been in before? Perhaps he just has one of those faces....

What's back 😲??
It's not a technical error. You can see on the videos before you click it how much of it is translated. Atm it is at 97% so some bits will be missing but not that much. A couple days ago it was at like 60%. I am waiting for the 100% mark. It's nice to see they are working on it so people don't start messaging them to beg them to translate it and wasting their precious translating time when they are already translating it. I believe the translators are volunteers as well. Viki doesn't get involved with subtitles.

Title Love Is Science? Spoiler
The problem is not much happens with the main couple, even the girlfriend is the one that broke up with him. He…
That's true. The primary couple is quite dull. Everyone else has something going on which creates interest.

Am I the only one who watches this drama because of the main couple? Hahaha...
I started for the story, I do watch BL, but I fell for the older couple story.

Where are people watching this when it comes out because Viki is taking a loooong time to translate it. I mean today its 97% but 2 days ago it was like at 60% and before that at like 11%. It's trickling in.

This isn't a kdrama. This is a video essay on human connection and desires, breaking the systems and fate as well as an art installation. I wasn't expecting that at all so was unprepared to pick apart all the symbolism and messages. This is not a show for those who like to be, or are accustomed to being spoon fed information and where stories follow are rigid structure and formula. It is derived from an award winning novel so expect to have to do a lot more thinking and analysing than usual because the director and writer purposefully left out information. But even as a surface level watch just for fun, it is entertaining enough, even if a bit odd and confusing. It's like Dead Like Me, Buffy, and Stranger Things all rolled into one.

Korean directors and production and writing staff are clearly on another level. Amazing work so far.

The way I was setting myself up for heartbreak because I just started this without knowing anything about it
Same. I didn't expect 6th Sense vibes meets He's Coming to Me vibes.

This drama did not age well. Thankfully these days we get more diverse character female and male leads so there's somewhat less toxicity. Wah, that FL character..... goodness. Also, why on earth is she of all people from that group still trying to hold on to celebrity status and accept all the mud slinging when she doesn't have to? All her other group members became quite successful in their other businesses without much fuss. At one point she says she couldn't do anything else... but her friends were in the same boat as her and made it, her cafe friend could have been a good business partner. Just for the sake of the romance/ story they forced her character to continue on this path of crap but it had no cohesion in the plot. She didn't display any desire to sing, to act or to entertain. She just did it to get by so she set aside her pride a lot and there was no character development in this regard. If all she wanted was money she could have found jobs that paid regular income and didn't compromise her pride or give her so much abuse.

I wouldn't say this was a waste of time. It had its fun moments but it really is a production of its time.

I dunno why I put this off for so many years. I even started the first ep but didn't continue. I finally went back on it and OMG it was soooo much fun and great relationships and finally a story where there is no emphasis on romance so they had time to really focus on the important stuff and not get sidetracked by irrelevant stuff. Amazing job by everyone.

so cute
I know... I would usually get soooo annoyed at the number of times the FL twists her ankles or the ML gets knocked on the head, the ridiculous ways they implement to push these two characters together or break them apart.... but it was actually quite a comfortable journey and everyone was easy to watch on screen without things getting irritating. The young kid was also really good as usually child actors can be really annoying. But it

ML's character is similar to the main male in perfect and Casual , don't get me wrong I really like miles wei…
OMG! I was wondering why he looked so familiar. Same actor and similar premise. I watched that show too and he is pretty much the same. I almost forgot about that show. I just skipped through some scenes and now I remember that premise was even more ridiculous than this one. LOL But they were both cute. A lot of ML of Asian drama's are like this because the Tsundere trope seems to be very popular. I mean the West's most famous Tsundere is Mr Darcy and he is still the most famous and desirable character amongst a lot of women. It would be nice to see some variety in these shows but I don't anticipate it happening any time soon. I think kDrama's tend to have more ML / FL character variety that Cdramas.

As a parent I just have a really hard time with the FL’s behavior. She is supposed to be a doctor and is constantly…
If you want responsible adults and realistic events and careers, then Asian romcoms are probably not for you. I have seen worse than this. They actually did quite well if you suspend you expectations of realistic actions that most likely won't push the story along. They just needed an excuse to push her to the ML and get her in his house. The whole premise is ridiculous but its just light hearted fun. They utilised the kid well and didn't forget he existed throughout the story which is a big win for me as most of the time children tend to be forgotten in these types of stories anyway. This kid did a great job. I mean, even the kid was scheming for them to fall in love so he knew something was up. Kinda like parent trap. Emotionally manipulating both parents to get what he wanted.
I mean, if you really take stock of all the unrealistic elements in the show.... then really, I don't think Asian dramas are for you because unrealistic events, characters, careers etc. is what they are essentially made of. Western dramas tend to be on the more realistic side because people will call them out for public irresponsibility if a doctor says the wrong treatment to symptoms in the show, or if a psychiatrist makes promises to clients that real docs aren't allowed to do etc. I am pretty sure if any business people watch these drama CEOs working they would also get riled up at how they run their business.

Title Hwarang Spoiler
They didn't, the drama is full of loopholes. Many things were never explained or discovered by other characters.
Okay that’s what I was hoping for. My current theory is that he is the real king or hidden prince and that is why the queen wants to keep the other prince hidden so no one knows his face so she can replace him easily. But I’m not too sure. But if it’s not that then don’t tell me. Thanks! 😊

Oh that 's disappointing. I just started it and I was wondering what the deal is with PSJ's character? In the beginning they seem to be alluding to his mysterious past/ purpose. I will be annoyed if they drop this and its just a red herring. After reading some comments I fear I have given this too much credit. Can anyone spoil about PSJ please?

Apart from that, this was really wholesome and you gotta love a bit of Ray Chang - what a dish that aged so so well. So sexy in We Best Love 1 & 2.

Title Way Back Into Love Spoiler
Wait. Is this based of true stories because what was with the cast of real characters at the end?
Also, what an unnecessary dramatic final conflict. It would have been nice for her to be a real mother rather than an adoptive one. Sometimes Cdrama's really like to "purify" their lead characters.
