I really like Yunxi’s love interest. I love the idea of these domineering women falling for devoted, gentle men. And how sweet her servant was with his daughter…☺️
Overall, I struggled to enjoy this drama. I thought the two leads did a phenomenal job acting, but something was missing from their relationship in the beginning. Now, I understand that it has to do with the time travel; however, time travel can be very tricky to pull off because of the sheer number of questions and loopholes that now exist. I’m not sure it was well executed in this drama.
Also, I dislike the ending because she’s essentially living in a dream. According to the laws of time travel, what she does in the past cannot affect the future. It’s sad that she decided to live in an unchangeable past versus facing her current reality. It’s like someone choosing to take hallucinogens to escape their life.
My thoughts on Su Yu / Su Yishui (spoilers for 27-28)
I'm a little disappointed at the direction the show is currently taking. I think it's a mistake to make Su Yu so evil/despicable because it is whitewashing Su Yishui. Compared to his cousin, Su Yishui looks like a little angel. One of the things I really liked about the show is having a cunning, scheming, villainous ML. But I read somewhere that morally grey characters either have to change drastically or die, so maybe this is for the best 🫠
but wowow only released 8 episod in their schedule like Youku.
From what I understand, they will change their schedule as we get closer to March. I think they only have March dates posted. On their official announcement, they said the show has 30 episodes - indicating they plan to show them all.
I’m out. I hope we’ll get to see this one day, but I’m not going to wait anymore. I hope you all have a good weekend! And read the book! It’s really good.
Does anyone know at what time (China time) we should expect the release of more episodes? There are conflicting reports about whether new episodes will air on Saturday.
Lol, I ignored my excitement/curiosity for weeks just so l could binge this after it's over only to find out today…
It was under hyped! No promotions, yet it was starting to trend on Weibo and crawled on Youku’s top 10 dramas for the week. Hopefully, this wasn’t the reason it was put on hold. Maybe we’ll hear something next week.
I think he is genetically an Apath because his father is an Apath. But it seems like he's not truly an Apath because he has emotions and feels compassion for others. So, maybe the show will answer this questions: Where does criminal behavior come from? What does it mean to have this Apath gene? Will genetic testing become mandatory to prevent additional crimes?
It really makes no sense, but I'm long past trying to make sense out of China's entertainment system. I hope they will release it soon without making too many edits. I think they're also afraid of this drama becoming too popular. There's been very little official promotions for this drama yet it makes it in top 5 and trends on Weibo. I just find it very arrogant that they think they can control what people like or dislike.
Well, all we can do is huff the copium until April, then we'll find out whether we were right. Personally, I am…
I think that’s the best attitude to have in this case. Once you start caring too much, you’ll become heartbroken and disillusioned. Be happy with what we have so far or move onto something else.
I think people are onto something with the National Congress happening in March. Because of that, no BLs. I remember that in the beginning of 2022, someone said they’re would be no BLs because it was a military year in China. And there were no BLs dramas or donghuas released in 2022 🤷🏾♀️
I’m going to hope that Chinese BLs will rise once more in April. In the meantime, I’m going to read Modu, save my own copy of each episode, and rewatch. April will soon be here…. Right? 🤡
