Really enjoying this. The mtl subs are terrible but the drama has aligned very closely with the novel in the ways…
Subs are getting better! I have re-watched episodes 1+2, and they are decent. Someone else said that 3 + 4 are fixed as well. I can understand the situation/scenes now. Some odd word choices here and there, but overall good.
I don't know if this helps anyone, but I'm reading the novel and re-watching the episodes... and they match! Some scenes are changed a little, but I'm understanding a whole lot more by reading Book 1. A lot of the dialogue is the same! Book 1 goes up until episode 6.
Shoutout to Luo WenZhou/Luo Wei Zhao! I don't think he's getting enough love, and he's such a great character.
That's a subjective question, so it will depend on the person. For me, from the first two episodes... I would say 5/10. I felt that chemistry during their first meeting, but I'm a little confused with the flashbacks and the history between them.
Edit: Saw episodes 3 and 4. Raising it to 7/10! I think if Pei Su had been a girl, the slow burn romance would be very clear to people - the bickering, the glances, Officer Luo's soft smile in his direction, the emotional burden between them... it's all very good!
For people who haven't read the novel/or can't access it (myself) - can someone enlighten me of who Fei Du is…
As far as I understand, Fei Du/Pei Su is a deeply tormented and complex character. He is a bisexual, playboy heir to successful corporation. He flirts with men/women and enjoys crazy parties where they do things like car race and other questionable activities. But deep inside, he's a young man who's been traumatized by his father and doesn't know how to accept love and love others. In the novel, he's been psychologically conditioned by his ruthless dad, but in the tv show, it's unclear how they'll use this with the criminal gene angle they're using. I hope this helps.
The first EP gave me a headache. What is this all about?
I heard from someone who read the book that the beginning can be confusing. The first case is part of a larger plot, but itās hard to see that now. The subs donāt make it easier.
Itās about crime solving and recovering from past trauma. The romance is slow, seems like, but very tender. Hard to know how much romance well actually get
Seems like the Chinese BLs are finally coming out of the dungeon. I hope this means that BLs dramas will continue. Unfortunately for Thousand Autumns, they still have a long ways to go. Hopefully, we'll hear something about this live action this year. My theory: news depends on the donghua getting released and doing well plus how well the novel does with its international sales.
