Does anyone know more about the director of this drama, Ho Leung Lau? I looked into him, and he used to be a screenwriter turned director for movies. Thousand Autumns will be his first drama, possibly his first costume, Wuxia production! From glancing at his past movies, they seemed to be more action-based with deep messages. I think it could be interesting because he could approach this project with fresh eyes, and the martial arts/fight scenes of Thousand Autumns are extremely important. BUT I hope he is paired up with a producer or another director who is more experienced in working with dramas, especially more romantic costume pieces.

I assume it would be 2022! What would be great is to have the donghua's season 2 finish around this time next year. Then, have the drama start late spring/early summer 2022! It will be the year of Thousand Autumns! AND the writer (Meng Xi Shi) is going to release additional extras of the novel. But I think that would be too fast for the drama, though, they are supposed to start filming over fall/winter.

So far, yes. MangoTV is doing this, and there are rumors flying about the cast. Very exciting! We still can't be victorious because anything can happen in C-dramaland, honestly. Until a show airs, it's uncertain if it will air. There are countless examples of this. Wishing Thousand Autumns good luck and some of the magic WOH had.

We still don't know what exactly he's doing in the drama. I do think he's kinda young and inexperienced (this was his first male lead role in Qing Luo) to play such a complex character as Yan Wushi. I really wish the production team could go with someone older, but they can't please everyone. No matter who they choose, that person can't fit everyone's personal ideas of who YW should be. I'll be happy as long as a respect and appreciation for the source material is there.

Also, please don't judge me, but I cringe whenever he's acting lovey-dovey with the female lead. I cringe whenever I see my BL leads with other people. It takes me a while to assimilate. Lol, this could be a good sign that I'm already acting like this with LXY.
