Now just simply take Liu Xue Yi as Yan Wushi and start with production ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
Liu Xue Yi is now wrapped up in filming another drama. It's going to start in late August. I don't think he's going to be Yan Wushi. Or, if he is, we're going to wait a long time for this drama to air. 😅 https://twitter.com/cdramarumours/status/1422344610659983363?s=20
Should i laugh or should i cry.I say this because as we talked before, i am always worried how some people want…
-- A young Shen Qiao can make do but a young YWS will spoil the fun--
LOL! If they close the age gap, some of the fun of their relationship is indeed lost. Gosh, I hope some members of the production team are taking notes!

Yes, I think we're around the same page and think similarly. At the end of the day, we all want this to be the best drama it could possible be.
On another note, I was reading some of the comments based on the picture Kit posted, and I wonder how many people have already given up on this drama because they think this is real news? Take a look at this screenshot (I blurred out people's names): https://imgur.com/jUCrJdP

I'm not gonna lie, I'm one of the people who wanted an older Yan Wushi, so this picture made me pause! 😅 Like Ximmich, I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. But hear me out! I thought it would be interesting to see a sexy older male actor as Yan Wushi (older meaning late 30s, early 40s) because he could lend the gravitas and the experience needed to play such a role. However, I understand that it's not everybody's jam (what they like) and that BLs in China have some strange arbitrary rules, like the lead actors have to single or have a certain number of followers. Plus, I do think a slightly younger actor could play Yan Wushi with the right production team and hair/makeup. But I'm still concerned, seeing the trend that dramas have started, or are continuing, to cast really young actors as highly experienced characters. I've read Thousand Autumns casting wishes where fans were suggesting actors in their mid-20s to be Yan Wushi. Well then, how old will Shen Qiao be? 18?! That is when I lose interest. But maybe someone else will really like that, and that's fine.
For this drama, casting will be super important, and will determine the type of crowd it gets.
Him being older and more experienced should not be left out. I feel like instead of making SQ less reclusive they…
You make some great points! I think they should let SQ be the sheltered, naive man that he is. I would like to discover the the world behind Thousand Autumns with him. I want to fall in love with and feel despair about Yan Wushi. I want to see them develop a common purpose and learn to respect each other while still maintaining the core of who they are. I hope they don't change this dynamic, and I agree, stop with the storyline that they've met each other before. Worked in Word of Honor, but it won't work everywhere else.
Some differences that I can gather: - Shen Qiao and Yan Wushi are known enemies before the fall. I wonder if the age difference will still be there? (please let it be there!) - It seems like Shen Qiao will be less reclusive and more concerned with the people from the start. - Shen Qiao is betrayed by more people than just Yu Ai. Reminds me of Wei Wuxian from Untamed. Both have different ideas/sentiments than the greedy groups around them. - Yan Wushi and Shen Qiao change each other throughout their journey together -Shen Qiao gets more political to bring about peace
What do you think of these possible changes? Any parts of the novel that are negotiable for you? For example, in my opinion, Yan Wushi has to be older, more experience than Shen Qiao.
As we await some beautiful rumours let's keep our comment section alive. So what scenes from the novel that you…
This might be strange, but I'm re-reading the novel and I hope they keep all the different sects and fractions and politics. It's actually very fascinating. The challenge of the drama is to make it interesting, relevant, and easy for the audience to understand, not a simple task. I recommend each group to have different colors, like in Untamed.
Thanks for the updates! Some interesting information! But I've been meaning to ask, why are you relieved about…
Maybe when we find out more, we can make a page here for Peerless/Wushuang? It doesn't even have a page on kisskh, even though rights to produce a drama have been sold. I could also be searching for the wrong titles.

Say no more, I understand! I hate it when networks cut and badly edit dramas. It means that they don't have faith in the team that worked so hard to produce it, and fans will never understand the show the way it was supposed to be seen.
My hope in his drama is rising! I can't wait until they confirm this cast, give us more details. Do you know if Huanrui also bought the rights to Peerless? I was thinking that it would make sense for a studio/network to test the waters with Thousand Autumns, then produce the second drama in the "series," linking it with TA if it's successful.
I wish there were some updates! It seems like nothing has been decided. I'm hoping they're working hard on this…
I think the good thing about Thousand Autumns is that the BL elements can be toned down and this drama will still work out beautifully. I would love to see the production team and the actors portray this slow burn romance and combine it with the politics and historical background. They could use the subtle-ness of Untamed combined with the teasing/flirtatious innuendoes that WOH used (because Yan Wushi needs to flirt and flirt hard!) to produce dynamite!
I want to see this already!!! Someone give me a trailer!!!!!

I think you're right. Whichever actor is chosen as Yan Wushi needs to prove that they can play, and have played, a villain. And they have to make it look sexy and appealing.
Meanwhile, Shen Qiao's actor just needs to exude goodness and light yet have this backbone of steel.
Ahhhhhh, this could be a really, really good drama if all the pieces fall into place!
It seems the rights/license for the adaptation of TA belongs to H&R Century Pictures no Mango TV. H&R Century…
Thanks for the updates! Some interesting information! But I've been meaning to ask, why are you relieved about the H&R producing the drama versus MangoTV? It seems like they don't have the best track record for producing dramas, even though their actors are very talented. I also don't know much about MangoTV, except what I've read on this comment thread. It seems like they turned one BL into a bromance?

Still kinda rooting for Liu Xue Yi as Yan Wushi. I've been keeping an eye on his recent projects, and he's a good actor. With the right script, the right director(s), the right Shen Qiao, this could be a really good drama! I have no idea who they'll choose for Shen Qiao, though,
Hmmmm but because this is bromance maybe it would still be okay or popular despite maybe the actors mostly still…
It seems like that's the route they're going in. I know for Untamed, they had some of the actors in a type of intense "acting camp" with coaches. I learned this from Jiang Cheng's actor's interview. He was very inexperienced in acting, but they chose him for JC (which is a hard role to play). I think they might do the same for Zhai Xiao Wen. I'm curious to see his portrayal of Xie Lian but the donghua's was so good and true to the novel... this adaptation has a lot of prove! The bar is set so high.
Hi ShizunofBL, can I ask if the cast of Thousand Autumns are already confirmed? Can you drop the names?? Thank…
I didn't know that the licenses expire, but that makes sense. I heard that the production team for Thousand Autumns were set to start filming in 2019, but they didn't for unknown reasons. I wonder how long these licenses last? It also makes sense that Heaven Official's Blessing will be moving so fast to film if the latest rumors of filming starting in July 2021 are true.
I definitely think you're right. If MangoTV doesn't make this work, someone else definitely will. Tencent has the donghua, it's a little weird that another network claimed the live action drama. Both might be in direct competition with each other. Hopefully not. If the networks are smart, they could use the same fanbase to promote each other.

I don't think they will, but this industry is so unpredictable. Who knows what will happen? The donghua has done really well, so that's good news for the drama. It's getting a season 2. Also, Meng Xi Shi is a pretty established writer, she's working on an extra for Thousand Autumns. Peerless, the second book in the Thousand Autumns universe, is also getting a drama adaptation at some point. If they drop Thousand Autumns, then it would be even harder to do Peerless. Plus, the storyline is easy to adapt, I think, and the BL elements aren't too strong. They could tone it down without losing the magic of Yan Wushi's and Shen Qiao's relationship. There are a LOT reasons why this drama could be successful, now we have to see if it will happen. Hopefully. And if they'll do it well.
It seems like this is based off of the animation publication which I enjoyed watching.
Seems like it. I haven't heard of anyone trying to make SVSS into a live action drama. But who knows, it might be in the making. It's the only MXTX book left without a live drama and a donghua. I think there's a lot of work that needs to go into this story for it to be adapted successfully. Luo Binghe's character needs to be less antisocial at the end, Shizun's feelings/changes need to be more apparent, the entirety of the last arc needs to be rewritten to make it more appealing and dramatic for a wider audience, the side characters need to their own storylines... I hope for a skilled group to tackle this project. I think if Immortality does well, this project will be picked up. Immortality also has a complicated story with a disciple/Shizun relationship. If it does well, it will give people confidence to go after this.
