Haha, I don't recognize k-pop stars (except for everybody in ATEEZ, but that can't be helped). Everybody else... nah :D But I do recognize actors by their smiles (though usually I remember the best ones, anyway :) )

Smiles are just - perfect. More so when they reveal a nice personality, too.

I don't really understand why LJW is acting so stiff in this drama. He CAN act, I've seen him do it beautifully before, but here he's very lacking in emoting anything, and then there's the open mouth fish-style kiss completely lacking in any passion (on either side TBH).

I didn't want to place all the blame on the actress, because I don't know if it's something to do with directing - I mean, seriously, WHY is LJW so stiff?! - but she really is a wallpaper and that's it. No emotions, no body language, nothing. If there was any hint of the smallest possibility of chemistry between them, the romance - which is the worst side of this drama - could have had a chance to work. But there isn't. So everything romance destroys what the conglomerate infighting is building. I see it's her first leading role after a VERY short drama career... I can't help but wonder what it took to get her the role - and if that's why LJW is so underwhelming in this... he probably realised what could be expected from the audience while they were filming it. But maybe that's just me being evil-minded.

Then there's the dynamics - if HTO wasn't freaking stupid all the time, he'd have learned KIH's nature a long time ago. After some 10-15 years together, there's no way he'd be caught out of the blue by any out-maneouvering done by KIH. That's just bad writing.

And now what, the stupid first chaebol son finally got some smarts out of the thin air?? I'd have rather bought an undercover revenge from KIH, but we're supposed to believe the stupid son did it and planned all that?! Like, seriously? Is the writer taking everybody for fools?! Considering this, it'll probably turn out to be HeeJoo's intended chaebol groom whatshisname, trying to get rid of competition.

Anyway... I hope this goes on in at least SOME engaging manner - I like it best when it's about planning (as long as they don't just promise to do it but really do it) and the less when it involves romance. With anybody (HeeJoo included).

And if the murder setup is done by KIH, that takes him into the MoJo's Top Ten Anime Betrayals list, LOL.

TBH, the last two eps were a definite improvement on the first 4. Finally the story isn't choppy any more, they stopped promising to start and actually DID things, some reveals happened and then they managed a good cliffhanger LOL.

The only continuing disappointment is the total lack of any visible chemistry between the FL and ML (ugh...) I hope the second half of the series actually delivers (unless they're preparing a long time skip right now LOL).

He got to be the boss of Silver Terrace because he (and presumably his men) totally butchered another sect entirely. He IS a killer, though a better educated one. XiaoSheng said she had to pay them a fee for ~protection~.

It looks like the spy in the yamen is either A-Ze or Zhi's maid. And it can't be the maid because she wouldn't necessarily be around Pan Yue all the time to report on his doings... I don't want A-Ze to be the spy T_T but he's the best candidate.

I was 100% sure that the man he'd point out (at the end of 11) is the one he did point out, LOL. That's just the way it works in dramas :D

I think I'm going to watch this, if only for Xin YunLai, LOL. I've been missing him, and he's finally on something NOT made by MangoTV (or at least not subbed by them) :D I don't know the leads, here's hoping the story is worth it.

UNLESS the brother turns out to be one of the villains...

So far the bright spark (or dark edgelord, LOL, he also has a mysterious identity, doesn't he?) and the best-hidden undercover coroner of Ancient China are sharing the cutest friendship, I want a lot more of that :D

Actually, she's bubbly and talkative when she's with A-Jiang AND Xiao Sheng, so that morose and serious face of hers maybe was reserved for strangers and Pan Yue only (also when she's working)?!

OMG A-Jiang!!! This is so painful - how can I root for BOTH of them at the same time?! Why doesn't Ancient China allow polyandrous matrimony LOL? It's fantasy anyway, let her marry the both of them :D Just imagine their banter each and every day (and night LOL).

I just love the light-hearted friendship they have, please don't let any hint of tragedy break them apart, they're like sunshine together and I really want that to continue :D
