You have a point about story line, I agree. POJ is enchanting, very beautiful, the tension between two main characters…
The rule about how many episodes a drama can have causes it.
Then the rule about how far apart separate seasons can be causes it.
I really hope they reverse both of them - most novels they adapt are VERY long, and there's basically not enough time to give the plot and characters space to breathe.
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
The ending to TTEOTM isn't all that bad, considering. To me, it's kind of hopeful.
Anyway - if you want something a bit like PoJ that's definitely HEA (and quite a long HEA, maybe the longest HEA in a costume drama I've ever watched LOL), maybe consider Wonderland of Love. It's a bit similar - they're both soldiers/generals, there are a lot of twists and turns, amazing OST, nice support cast that you're going to miss, veeeery long and happy ending.
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
That's why I also hope it won't happen. I mean, I love LYX and CFY too, and while this is one of my favourite novels... oh well, it wasn't meant to be. Not to mention that they might have censored it beyond all recognition, and instead of a lukewarm thing thrown out together for the money, I'd rather not have it at all.
And after this mess-up (and the previous ones), I rather think Tencent and all the other platforms will slam the door as closed as possible on any possible leaks for their past and future dramas.
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
I don't know how long MDL has been around or how well-populated. I mean, NiF only has at most 2k comments, and it's one of the best cdramas ever made.
I only got here after accidentally stumbling upon The Untamed and then just checking out what I had already watched took a long while LOL. And I myself didn't leave comments on most dramas I had already finished. I guess most people were the same.
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
I'm NOT even into pain (unless for a short while) but it was impossible to break away. I mean. LYX, Bai Lu, the support cast (still checking up on a lot of them), that OST!!!
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
The difference being that IF someone would leak 2ha, it would be because there will NEVER EVER be an official release that we could all watch and enjoy legally.
Like they did with The Spirealm, who, IIRC, never aired in the mainland, or the one based on Priest's Mo Du that only aired in Japan officially ( I don't remember the drama's title, I didn't watch it since I don't like Priest's novels mostly, LOL... though I do buy them - they're not freaking cheap at all! - just to encourage SSE to license and publish as many danmei novels as possible).
PoJ is legally available, leaking it is a freaking crime and serves ZERO purpose - it's not even in its first eps, those who did it wouldn't have much to gain from it.
2ha though... We'll just have to imagine how perfect LYX would be as Chu WanNing and CFY as MoRan... Dammit.
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
Myself... it's the first part I like the best LOL. I must like depressing backgrounds for the characters hahaha~
Actually, my pfp on my laptop is STILL downcast Tantai Jin, what with his elfish slight silhouette and those frosted eyes brimming with hatred. Yup. Not going to change it any time soon LOL.
Granny Kang's replacement grandson wasn't in place yet to take over. I know, I'm just as mad.
I remember the part about the teen sister about to become a courtesan, thanks for reminding me! And I do remember she lost a leg after being hurt in the Lin'an raid. I thought she was at home and depending on him only, I'd forgotten that mention of a brothel - and TBH I didn't pay a lot of attention to the Pig Butcher Squad when they were in Lin'an, I thought they were support charas to be later discarded, my mistake.
Oh well. I hope the grandson doesn't become obnoxious.
Hey!! What if he goes back to Lin'an and marries her? :D Just as a gesture for taking Mandi's role in the drama, LOL.
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC)3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k…
KP was back in 2022, TTEOTM in 2023, Immortality never aired.
First and last are BL, respectively danmei. I didn't watch KP (it has way too many gangsters per squared meter and I don't like gangsters or care about their love affairs). TTEOTM was sizzling while it aired, IIRC it got up to some 70-80k before ending, the rest built up over time. It's a great bloody xianxia, if you're into pain, I recommend it LOL.
Now, I am kind of pretty certain that IF Immortality ever aired, it'll break all the comments sections. MLs are Luo YunXi and Chen FeiYu, IF they aired it, the fandoms would go to war no matter how censored the drama would be.
BUT, as I already said, it was filmed sometime in 2020 I think, and if they would have wanted to release it, it would have been already. Now danmei adaptations are considered basically toxic so even the cast won't like to see it air. I don't know how the production teams got their investment back, if at all.
To give you a hint of how toxic danmei got - Song Yan, the scholar ChangYu was supposed to marry, is played by an actor who now has an airing BL drama. His face was completely removed from PoJ and replaced with another actor's face, just to make sure there's no association.
PS KinnPorsche is one of the most-watched Thai BL dramas ever. There are a lot of fans (not myself, though I do watch Thai BL and Chinese censored danmei, and BL in general). There are dramas out there that are very well received by their own audience and skip the attention of people who aren't into their respective genre, LOL.
OMG this is the drama with the highest amount of comments? Any other drama with this many comments before full…
1. KinnPorsche (some 170k). 2. Till the End of the Moon (some 130k IIRC) 3. Immortality (2ha - this is over 102k and never aired. Never will either, at least officially, because China basically banned danmei adaptations)
I am only up to 31, but how would the events in it could have happened before the battle? Since General He dies,…
But she wasn't even IN the battle, they were all off doing whatever, trying to catch or block Sui-the-Younger, or the rebel Prince (can't remember his title), or the remaining Sui General that was with the one in ep27 I think, who got killed by ChangYu and died too, here. Why would she need to be taught battle lore? She always wanted to just go away and not be a soldier.
Only General He was in the actual battle, and we saw none of it - eps 29-30 were the worst edited, IMHO, and there was none of the tension one would expect from an actual battle. And neither did we see any actual fighting from Xie Zheng, it's always ChangYu (so far).
I really wish they didn't make it a girl-boss story in the end, let the ML have some battle-readdiness too, not just be a handsome and protective matrilocal husband (that's the only side of him that got really detailed, nothing much of anything else).
So they are still not releasing all the episodes? Why not? Like why not?
From a watcher's POV that would make sense. From a platform's POV, not really. They air it with commercial support of the platform (even if/when the actual episode isn't paused for commercial breaks), the viewer/comment counts are important for a platform, sponsors want to show up before the drama airs, etc. There are five platforms airing this drama according to their own contracts. It's not a case of "well, a pirate version is out, we'll just dump it all in an express".
And most likely there will be a lot of noise about it, and some legal suits pretty fast. (These leaks aren't impossible to track). The people "enjoying" the illegal sites where these appeared might just kill their own gold goose over this.
Most likely there'll be an express package sometime soon, maybe Wed-Thur at the latest, and people will still pay - for better image quality, better subs, and obviously to support the team and actors. I highly doubt subscribers to those 5 platforms will rush to watch it in an illegal (probably international) site, instead of just using what they paid for. So overall, it might not be the worst break for the platforms, unless the leakers and watchers start mass-sharing spoilers for those who didn't watch it. And then more lawsuits will follow. It's the business way of things.
Something fun , so in todays live txw cat made a special apperance and everyone reacted except zlh he was just…
Cat-loving people are the best. Dog-loving people are also the best. Pet-loving people are the best too. I do wonder about the spider-loving people though.
Granny Kang's replacement grandson wasn't in place yet to take over. I know, I'm just as mad.
And why would the grandson even matter to them, even if they're all from Lin'an?! I mean, he WAS Granny Kang's grandson, and SHE never truly liked ChangYu until one day or so before her death. How could the grandson become their insta-friend?
I wonder if this is the same in the novel or the actor (who seems to have lines, too, which is kind of telling) was parachuted into the production, as they tend to do from time to time? Oh well, no hate from me, it's a cutthroat business there too, but one does wonder.
Then the rule about how far apart separate seasons can be causes it.
I really hope they reverse both of them - most novels they adapt are VERY long, and there's basically not enough time to give the plot and characters space to breathe.
And seriously, they have a Chen XueRan OST - it's worth it if only for that. Though it's way more than that, LOL.
Anyway - if you want something a bit like PoJ that's definitely HEA (and quite a long HEA, maybe the longest HEA in a costume drama I've ever watched LOL), maybe consider Wonderland of Love. Yup. One of the best pain-ladden dramas.

So yeah. There's room to grow, LOL.
That's why I called him a replacement - he just got Mandi's part. :( He's not an addition, just a spare.
