... is TTJ denying he's going to be Devil God, his expression is going "you're out of your MIND, what the HELL are you talking about?!!"
And then the rage because she never trusted him. And then the desperation because she doesn't listen to anything he's telling her and going through with the sacrifice.
Ep 28…I need time to digest and process the emotions. Sadness, madness and anguish of abandonment felt by TTJ.…
When he asks her if she never trusted him at all, and she says she couldn't risk the whole humanity for the small chance of a sliver of good inside him...
You DON'T trust him, LSS, dammit, where's the love?!!! He was spot-on :(
This is one of the best eps so far. I thought I wanted to see evil TTJ go and destroy the world (and he was hot as a bad-ass Devil God) but it turns out I wanted to see him suffer and be tormented even more. Am I a sadist?!
Also, YQY ROCKS!!!!!!!!! YQY, you're my favourite non-fox demon to ever use fox-magic in the whole xianxia world!!! (Punch him again, he needs it, LOL). YAY!!!! *seriously... I might be a sadist T_T*
I have no idea why the useless Ye dad and bully second bro needed to be in this ep, I could care less about what happened to them. I care more about ChunTao, at least she's trying to help from time to time.
I thought the only thing needed was to take out the bone... it turns out he STILL has to choose?? Ohhh, that's hard.
Because everybody's been at the school of CoRelAtiOn DoeSn'T mEaN cAuSAtiOn :D
Ji Ze already comes through as a bit of a c*nt, if you ask me. He's the master pupeteer playing with all their lives, and I don't even care he's the God of Time and ON A MISSION.
Eff off already, sad relic of the past! (Yeah he kind of makes me... pretty mad).
He doesn't know it was all about the poisoned porridge. If he knew, it would all be clear to him, too, but as…
Never met a paranoid person before, have you :)
So, LSS is schizophrenic (I mean, two souls/minds, then they add SJ, so three so far, she's not all in one piece already LOL), TTJ is paranoiac (there's only one person who he can trust - himself), YBC is a narcissist (no explanation needed), XL has a martyr complex.
I could go on :D
In TTJ's defense though... even if you're paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you for real :D Case in point - YXW...
Because everybody's been at the school of CoRelAtiOn DoeSn'T mEaN cAuSAtiOn :D
Okay, maybe this drama's plot is more tailored to whatever I like best, or maybe I've read enough c-web novels already, but it all makes perfect sense to me, at least.
First, none of the main charas (protagonists and villains) are stupid. Everyone has their motivations and act according to them, and, as an aside, they weren't meant to be superheroes in the first place. Just flawed people placed in impossible circumstances.
TTJ knows and recognizes YBC for what she is, BUT she is similar to his ex persona to a fault (both helpless, forced by the circumstances to plot and get twisted by hatred and use anything and everything to survive). He doesn't like her, but he can't hate her either (at least not yet, as he's not privy to everything she did).
YBC is being now maddened with losing everything she so painstakingly worked for. She pretended all her life she's the good girl, the nice one, the fragile one, just to find a protector, and still, she could never be certain it was love or the love threads' work that got her XL. Looking out for herself is her complete motivation. She doesn't need remorse - she doesn't have TIME to be remorseful. But she can hate, and she does hate her sister, who had it easy, and is a perfect target for YBC's hatred. She (YBC) gets away with a lot, because yes, there's a lack of communication between the leads, but that's circumstantial. As long as there's no communication, YBC will do her thing, whatever it is.
YXW came primed to kill TTJ and kept pulling the wool over her own eyes regarding his actual well-intended acts. If the bone doesn't come out, he's is doomed. He could be totally the best emperor the world has ever seen, die, and STILL be the vessel for the Devil God. So YXW/LSS, since she didn't realize there were alternatives (she took the original mission as the complete and final and unalterable truth), CANNOT afford to be compassionate and respond to his love.
The fact that she does, and that she can still have revelations, makes up the whole drama actually.
I'm pretty pleased with what we got so far. I haven't read the novel, and I don't think I will, but the drama on itself is making sense to me, and I'll leave it at that.
He doesn't know it was all about the poisoned porridge. If he knew, it would all be clear to him, too, but as…
YBC knows there was no communication because she (YBC) is still alive. She's not really stupid, no matter how much commenters like to hate on her. She's basically a ruthless, conscience-free, survivor.
You forget that YXW still tried to kill him, LOL. And he's in constant pain, and now his life is the guarantor of HER life (which she almost lost). So he wants to protect her by pretending he doesn't care about her any more. Which includes the reasons for why her sister wanted to kill her.
I don't think they've gone dumb with stupidity, they've gone dumb with pain and shock. How much can their respective minds endure?! They both looked like they were on drugs in the wedding ep. Neither was functioning correctly, both were in la-la land in their own minds.
I thought that was an amazing show of skill, myself.
I picked up Till...Moon at episode 24. The subsequent episode plots are cringey, but I cannot help but wonder…
So... they took an already formed, loved, well-established 'verse that a scholar/professor spent dozens of years to build and enrich, and decided to make a Rings of Power out of it. (I know it's not Hollywood but Prime, but it's basically the same difference).
Or, different example, this one even more painful. They took a settled lore, a mystical fairy tale of the far future (and a galaxy far far away etc), and had the main hero of the story grow old to drink green milk from the nipples of a lard-bag of an alien creature, abandon everything his story and progress ever stood for, and decide to whoosh! out into the air. Which made zero sense whatsoever. Oh and somehow, Palpatine returned, too.
I don't even want to discuss the level of cringe I've had from the most lauded Western creations lately (that is, in the past 20 years or so).
There's a reason people (like me, if not others) turn from Western media to Asian media.
That's cold. I don't care she doesn't mean it (maybe).
And then the rage because she never trusted him. And then the desperation because she doesn't listen to anything he's telling her and going through with the sacrifice.
LYX mastered it all perfectly.
DAMMIT!

(Myself, I prefer danmei, but there's a bit of everything for everyone :D)
