If anyone knows what's going on with tencent please tell me? why did fat shrimp come out to put a note so suddenly?
To keep it short, Tencent is suppressing TLP heat.
To explain, basically every day at a certain time, about 18:30 China time, the heat suddenly dips then starts going sideways. The way data is behaving it became very obvious that something was wrong and people who follow data started questioning Tencent. If it is a bug, why isn't it being resolved? If it's not a bug, what is going on?
They didn't make any official statement but then yesterday, through their own people started releasing news that they changed the way data was calculated (right after TLP exploded? really?) And this was the new way - which remember they did not officially announce and if there is a new way then this new data cannot be grouped with the old data (which they are doing).
But their explanation also doesn't work (I can explain in detail if anyone wants) because we actually can see how data is behaving and it does not correspond to their "explanation".
Lots of people are still contacting TC demanding an official statement but the way things are it looks like it won't happen. Of course, everyone expects the way heat is calculated to go back to how it used to be as soon as TLP finishes broadcasting, so that the following dramas can break the records easily.
Why TLP is being suppressed is a matter of discussion but a lot of people, myself included, believe this is the result of the internal struggle between Wang Juan and the previous management because remember, this drama isn't hers but would be counted as an achievement of the old crew. Of course there are other things but it's best not to go there here.
There were some drama yesterday with fans being upset that Tencent is removing views or suppressing views from…
Not views, heat. Tencent is suppressing the heat. It's not just fans who noticed and everyone has been questioning them. They didn't release any official statement but used their marketing accounts to try and pass some story how they changed the way they calculate heat (right in the middle of broadcasting TLP? Really?) But then it turned out that their story doesn't match with how data is behaving.
There is a lot of controversy currently in China about this drama and it is going to get much worse if after the broadcast is over, the heat index goes back to how it was.
I donโt know why XZ doesnโt sing in the OST and Iโm sad about it ngl. Iโve come to expect him to sing…
He may want to leave it to professional singers (I know he is one too but he is primarily an actor) especially as there has been some fuss over actors, especially those who can't sing, getting to do OSTs over actual singers. This eliminates the issue.
Episode 14 really tested my limits when it comes to Zhu Yan. I thought we were past the whole kid stage. She accepted the first disciple position and what does she do? She again acts like a recalcitrant child who doesn't want to learn and questions him. I just can't with this attitude.
I also don't like Ren Min's acting choices here at all. What is it with the super overdone gestures? Swinging her arms like that especially, it is just annoying AF.
I am seriously loving XZ's portrayal of Shi Ying. It really is a testament that with the right acting skills, a cold character is not an expressionless character. The way he radiates dignity and nobility, with a sort of bubble of space that this creates around him and a calm and dignified demeanor is perfect to show us just that. Also how he upped it a little once he got a disciple because that is an even more respected position. I could watch him all day. Please film more ๐
Shi Ying is not yet 18, so his younger brother can't be older than 16 and he already talks about marrying princess…
Yes, that was normal in the old days and that got transferred to pretty much all the fantasy novels, especially because the trope the younger you are before you reach a certain level of power, the better, is one of their cardinal rules too.
I have been thinking about the bridge scene and Shi Ying and happy memories and I just realized that his last five years were spent living in a graveyard. I don't know why I didn't fully realise that before. Too depressing for my heart, I need chocolate.
When it comes to Zhu Yan it is because her perception is that she caused his death (and the exile and suffering…
It happens! I think the events described there were pretty overwhelming.
Tbh the biggest impression on me was left by the scene with his father and mother. It is very clear by what his mother says that his father knows it is not his fault but is choosing to let him take the fall anyway because otherwise he would have to admit he was duped by the concubine.
It is/was horrific for me that a parent can simply discard a child like that for their own ego. Of course then comes the fire and everything about the prophecy, easy to see how it slipped your mind.
Ummm tbh i dont really understand why ZY is so obsessed with trying to revive Shi Ying when they only encountered…
When it comes to Zhu Yan it is because her perception is that she caused his death (and the exile and suffering of his mother). When he defended her, it started the chain of events that ended up as they did, with him dying and his mother suffering. Of course, that's not objectively true but she doesn't know that, her perception is that it was her fault. She was a 10yo kid who suffered big trauma who then thought there was a way to bring him back and undo what happened, alleviating that guilt. So she fixated.
Does this get any better? I liked the kid actors in the first episode, not so sure about the adults... but what…
By the time it gets to episode 8 it is really amazing. The start is a bit slow, everything has to be set up but we are already with all the side characters, leads are interacting, fights, good CGI.
Of course don't force yourself if you don't like it, sometimes things simply don't resonate with you but if you want to try more I think you will be hooked by the time you see 8.

But the drama is changed so it's actually uncertain what the final outcome will be here.
The manipulation just made it worse tbh.
