Asian media has NOT been "safe" from queer inclusion for DECADES, where you been? Queerness is not a "thing of the west" & not even the overly-censored oppressive regime of China can prevent equality from getting its due in various episodic stories. It's nothing "new" or "now", but merely "finally, ~more representation of real-life ppl!" In case you're unaware, there are MANY Asian countries with growing communities rooting for queer inclusivity & even ones with little-to-no progress still have had media treating them like "normal" humans. It's really sad how certain ppl have been taught to hate, fear & dislike with disgust etc any ppl or couples that don't fit their idea of "purity". Hope your heart heals enough to let love & respect of ALL humans into your soul asap ♡♡♡

have you heard of My Fellow Citizens? somehow a conman with a broken-heart ends up fresh-starting with a COP who doesn't kno his past, & years later as the stress of keeping his secret has driven a wedge btwn them, he ends up getting roped into some major mafia-style messiness, endangering his new life which becomes even more risky when said cop wife begins investigating the very bad folks he's suddenly involved with, while he struggles to use his position for good & hold onto the life he's built even as the moment of truth looms.. so it isn't as dark or miserable as smth like "so I married a murderer" heh - but it had a lot of heart (& humour!) in the chaos of what ensues.. ♡

LOL been trained well from US media, I suppose ;P but I really do just love how many Asian miniseries just have like, 1000x more cuuteness & so I been dying to see that for queer ships, mainstream-style! My fave "dramas" are ones I can most easily headcanon turned out to be happy *queer/poly* ever-afters, regardless of whatever messes happened in the very last eps xD

"jealously incarnate" aka "don't dare to dream this will end decently" lol was one of the WORST & most LOVELESS "triangles" ever, but the best ones in my own pov are ~mature enough to just avoid overdone cliche "heartbreak" & petty jealousy tropes & pure enough to not resort to the x-rated (obvious or implied) messiness of typical soaps.. true heartfelt writing doesn't need all that, but achieving it onscreen is rare indeed ♡

agree, just watching Strong Woman DBS & the SVU-like scenes btwn ones of typical silly cuteness feel so jarring! it's a weird mix, heh.. n.n

They are very rare indeed! My top faves are even more "OT4" type ie the second girl becomes or alrdy is close with the main girl as well as both guys loool - Protect the Boss & She Was Pretty ♡♡♡♡ I would also suggest Soft Memory which has not only adorkably cute queer vibes, but an ~odd ending that could be read in various ways, hmm.. ♡♡♡

the best "love triangles" are the ones with actual ~equal love feels in multiple directions, lol in my pov! always seems like I got scammed?? when a story claims to have a "triangle" but in truth, the other person is barely seen at all by the middle one, tsk.. especially not romantically! but yet I'm still so often willing to give new stories a chance, forever hoping for smth that will surprise me in a fun & cute way.. ♡♡♡

@ITZRASHMI This feeling has plagued me for years, argh! ♡ Dying for a simple, basic, classic-vibes 16hr-ish drama for each of my fave potential queer ship combos LOL be it f/f, m/f/m, or f/m/f.. just "innocent cuteness" with fun cohabitation hijinks, adorkable dates, etc no tears & no jealousy! (or at least not the "serious" soapy kind, so boring! & cliche by now) Can't wait til.. 2024? 2032? 2045? when we finally have a variety? to choose from, heh.. for now, I'll just be shipping "triangles" hopelessly xD

there does exist a ~variety of ppl in this world LOL I for one am also a "shut-in", mega-hermit, don't ever really like going out at all BUT when I do (& even being disabled, I do have errands etc to do on my own too) I can be "uncharacteristically outgoing" for someone who is ~mainly an introvert - from making cmts to others at the grocery store to randomly complimenting ppl to striking up full convos with strangers, haha.. ♡ but often I still end up quickly longing for the comfort & seclusion & solitude of my sanctuary that I call home, so.. it's not sustainable for me to have a regular "everyday" kind of life that iinvolves going out & being "on" all the time like most others manage to do, just occasionally, once or twice a month or so overall ☆

no it was released back in late 2019, that's when I started watching it or shortly after in early 2020 first on KissAsian but then I switched to the YouTube version cuz it's better quality ♡

There's no established queer relationships really, BUT the character of QiGuang who is based on Jay, just like Jay is rich & they both have a crush on the lead in his "handsome" mode & this one goes a wee bit farther (than the comic at whatever point I left off a while back) with QG speaking & even after figuring out WS's bodyswitching secret, still crushes on him - his original self, lol. In fact, I really love how pure QG is about taking care of everyone, especially WS, expecting nothing in return, knowing WS is hopelessly smitten with TQ anyways. Yet WS remains oblivious of QG's feelings effectively thru-out the whole 19hrs, heh. Overall, QG has become one of my all-time fave drama characters with how he's written here! ♡

I'm still surprised the basically polyamorous & epic "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" (about a loner geek who ends up with ~two androids in a mega complicated f/m/m triangle) came from China as well.. o.o ♡♡♡

LOL that very last scene was such a tease! it looked to be XiaoRou's wedding with YuSheng, then ChuLu shows up &.. trio reunites? ♡♡♡

I tend to gravitate towards cute & cheerful vibes with all Asian media, so I had passed over 3WBF for its dark & gloomy impression, & looking at MFR's page it has a similar feel, but Btwn C&I may have potential! Also the ace rep being spoken positively about in the cmts is a welcome bonus, lol too bad it's only a shortfilm but I'll def keep it in mind for when I'm up for it! Thanks!! ♡

Oh yes, watch Mary if you enjoy practically-poly hijinks lol even if the writing lost its way somewhere around the middle, when they try to make up for it a bit in the last ep, my heart. There was a whole page of cmts on LiveJournal where ppl were pondering the polyness! The aesthetics fuel my dreams even after all this time & some fanvids are on my profile too ♡
