That wasn't a "missable little detail", it was HyeYoung who first started taking care of him after noticing how badly he was neglected by his parents. SunOh giving HY the robot was SO's way of "paying him back", & he continued to do similar gestures later in life while HY always tried to assure him that his care & attention didn't need to be "bought". But SO only learned to use force & money due to his cold family. What if SunOh hadn't been selfish & pushy & just let things happen on their own.. & if the three of them could have become close instead so no one was left out to begin with? well here we are. watched S1 a few days ago and got really mad at basically all the characters for one reason…
..what does "right now" in the context of that sentence mean? since in the first volume they did a multi-year timejump after JoJo pushed SunOh away in which she seemed to give up dating completely & never "needed" to date or anything else.. but ditto on the needing to love herself more/better! I'd hope she at least gets that for development over volume two.. (also yes loool the overall dumbness of the writing left me annoyed when I first watched it too, hehe)

haha the funny part of that cmt is because it's a Netflix-sponsored "original", there ~is actually an English dub & it's ~hilariously baaad LOL like it literally magnifies every cringey thing about the series to be a hundred times worse xD

The trailer for the movie made it look so "cheap comedy", I'm not sure if I'd like it either. I think the best part of the anime was how over the course of time, they each learn to support her & her interests - as well as each other - & their friendship as a group becomes stronger because of it, even despite their silly rivalries in trying to win her heart. I was hoping to see more of those varied connections develop further if they ever made a second season. Time will tell <3
