Well, no hate here - the story mostly takes place btwn late teens to early 20s with the time-jump, & majority of viewers (at least as tracked on MDL) are the same age or younger so it's cliche to make it a "all young ppl lack sense" thing, lol.. ;P

That wasn't a "missable little detail", it was HyeYoung who first started taking care of him after noticing how badly he was neglected by his parents. SunOh giving HY the robot was SO's way of "paying him back", & he continued to do similar gestures later in life while HY always tried to assure him that his care & attention didn't need to be "bought". But SO only learned to use force & money due to his cold family. What if SunOh hadn't been selfish & pushy & just let things happen on their own.. & if the three of them could have become close instead so no one was left out to begin with? it happens like that sometimes, love doesn't have on/off buttons lol one cannot say "hey heart, stop liking that person because they're not right for me at all.." when you start caring about them to the point that you just want to make them smile & help give them a good life & as long as they're spending time with you, that's fine ♡

..it wasn't her "circumstances" tho? she became rather pitifully paranoid & "afraid of getting hurt" (which in itself is a dumbazz reason cuz you basically still cause pain to yourself- & often others!- anyway, tsk) & then there was the multi-year timejump so it seems she's tired of that fear controlling her by that point after years of being alone & missing the comfort of love etc.. oyy x.x

..what does "right now" in the context of that sentence mean? since in the first volume they did a multi-year timejump after JoJo pushed SunOh away in which she seemed to give up dating completely & never "needed" to date or anything else.. but ditto on the needing to love herself more/better! I'd hope she at least gets that for development over volume two.. (also yes loool the overall dumbness of the writing left me annoyed when I first watched it too, hehe)

The trailer for the movie made it look so "cheap comedy", I'm not sure if I'd like it either. I think the best part of the anime was how over the course of time, they each learn to support her & her interests - as well as each other - & their friendship as a group becomes stronger because of it, even despite their silly rivalries in trying to win her heart. I was hoping to see more of those varied connections develop further if they ever made a second season. Time will tell <3

Basically: the anime has a poly-vibe where slashy ships surround the lead girl, including herself with another girl(!), yet she is also a fairly "clueless" ~aromantic person, LOL so she really only has heart-eyes for her fictional character idols, hehe.. I never got to finish the manga & I still need to see the movie, but that's the anime as of s1. Personally, I think the real best endgame would be an OT6.. never been good with choices, gotta ship them all! <3

actually "both" is the only proper resolution xD
