I only read long synopsis for the episodes, so I didn't watch the original, but from I read they of course made quite a lot of changes - some small, some bigger, it's also 20 episodes with 2 seasons, so this will cover story of the first season and last episode I'd say, the American version was def more draggy and with some odd ascepts, like student/teacher relationship etc and more "stereotypical Mafia story"
he's not the greatest, but generally not worse than Cha Eun Woo (he was good in the darker dramas, to be fair) or Rowoon, but those have thousands of loyal fans, double standarts I'd say.
