I don't think the reason is romance... There are still stories to tell and it will focus on the medical stuff/stories and partly personal lives of the people from the hospital. The new villain will probably want to take over the hospital.

I mean, yes, it sucks. But trust me, I live in European country which should be more "LGBT friendly", but no way, we would have tv show of gay characters happening anytime soon. And if there is some kind of other race/sexuality in mainstream or such, it faces quite a lot of backflash. So please don't think only Korea/Asian countries have lot of homophobes. The progess is there.

Sad to see school bullying becoming a popular topic for kdramas.
On the other hand, it brings attention to the problem, which is positive. Also, some of them can even make victims of bullying feel better (not alone, seeing the future) and even if it helps a few bullied kids, it is worth it.
