I was also addicted to it when I first watched it. I was also new to kdramas. It was my 4th or 5th. The struggle between the 2 main leads was very intense and interesting. I had hard time rooting for one over the other. FLs could used more background really and more story but the drama was short. I wish it was longer lol. But I think the first fl character was very well suited to the drama and we saw how she was taken as a kid by her mom enemy and was enslaved and groomed. I saw people complaining that she should be street smart in addition to being talented. But I thought that the way she was kept And groomed did not allow her to develop normal social skills or street smart as people wanted. Her character worked for me and while I was frustrated with her sometimes I still understood the character. The second fl did not have much story or background. I agree she was used to serve a purpose only. I’m glad u found it worthy watch. I was actually surprised by the harsh comments against this drama because it did not follow the normal norms of kdrama. But to me it was far much more interesting than many of the top 10 Dramas on this forum.

But that how its should really be. Human r not perfect and we all have our flaws. I personally never like dramas with perfect robots like character. Nothing is authentic or real in them and I also don’t understand why people tend to like unrealistic character more than ones with flaws.

Yes, but crash landing on you was also very popular on Netflix South Korea and Asia but also did very well on tnv (around 20%). The king was popular in Netflix but not in South Korea. If people enjoy drama just enjoy it in my opinion. Some of my favourite dramas are not highly rated on this forum for example.

I think that’s what internationals like about it And what Koreans don’t. Similar vibe worked with hotel de Luna because it was a fantasy but it did not work for serious matters to be shown in such vibes. There r many dramas with flawed characters and physios that got high ratings in South Korea. There many dramas that did well in South Korea but not with international and vice versa. That’s normal I think.

Yes it’s badly rated in South Korea. I don’t understand why people keep denying that. it’s good they like the drama but that does not mean everyone else should. This is a very expensive drama and the main lead is getting paid a fortune per episode. I’m sure they expected rating to skyrockets but they did not and it does not look like it will. 5-6% for expensive weekends drama does not cut it. I personally don’t know why Koreans seems to not like it generally. In the last several years, many serious dramas did very well. World of the married almost broke 30% rating and was on paid tv too. I think it have to do with the gothic Tim Horton vibes they drama has. It just makes it seem unrealistic and more of a fantasy rather than serious drama.

Because we r free to voice our opinions especially when it’s about unethical and immoral behaviour that drama makers are masking as fun, cute and good when it’s the total opposite!!!

I noticed that too. Many people r creating countless account to boost drama of their fav ship while going to write bad reviews and comments about other dram for other actors. It was not like that before. Yes dramas of main well liked actors usually got a boost in rating because of that certain actor while the less known actors did not get that. But this phenomenon of toxicity for other trashing good actors to promote their main ship is newer her but very toxic really. There is nothing wrong with liking and supporting multiple actors. It’s unhealthy really to have these wired fixation of wanting to put others down to promote a single actor .

While I’m not one of those crazy fans about him, I really think people need to respect his privacy. So many people keep sharing stuff about his wedding and relationship on Instagram. It’s ended already. People need to respect that and leave them alone. I personally feel he got the bad end of the deal in the marriage and I hope he recovers well and fast and get to drama land soon. Not a crazy fan but will watch something for him if it’s good.

I actually enjoy low budget dramas a lot more than those newer expensive ones. There is something more raw and authentic in low budget dramas that I don’t see in these newer glossy ones. That’s me thought. I don’t find it really as positivity when a drama described as expensive with outstanding cinematology.

There is nothing likable or kind hearted about her. She is a narcissistic home wrecker who in real life no one wants to be around her. It boggles me to understand who thinks what she does is any good!
