The rating are getting better and better. It was rated 2 this week.

I know what you mean about her. She unconsciously played both brothers. The only excuse is she did not know what she is doing. In the novel she spends so much time with RY and when she was narrating, she gives us much evedince that RY actually loves her so much. Like when she was at his house and he was touching her face, and the water god cough them, RY was so shy and she did not know why. Or whe she told the fact that for the 3 years she had to morn her dad death at the flower realm, how RY spends every night with her. Or when she Did not understand the 2 creatures who were saying how amazing RY to her that he has to come up with so much strategies while playing chess with her to let her loss in dignity or allow himself minor wins. I'm satisfied at the ending becouse she loved XF and they end up together. But I still root for RY and hope the writer writes a story for him.
Also in the novel unlike the drama XF was not represented nicely. I really didn't not like him when i was reading the novel at first. He only thought about himself, his needs and feelings. He was presented as a selfish person. The sleeping together scene did not set well with me. Not just becouse he slep with his brother fiancé, but becouase he knew how JM is yet gone to sleep with her. There was something's about the whole secen that was not right. Also Yes, he did not care to be the coming emperor, and payed due rights to his brother, but that becouse that what he wanted. He was never cornered or treated badly like RY, yet he never shared with his brother important things like leading the army or asking his mother to treat him better. He always got what he wanted and he did not want to be the coming emperor. So again, it was about what he wanted actually not what he gives up. But the drama diverted from that. He is presnted so lovely in the drama. I don't think they will make the sleeping together in the drama the same as it will be bad for him. But, I still wish they will show how JM really related to RY as she did in the novel as this is crucial to the events of the drama to show why's RY didn't what he did insted if showing him as the bad guy. But I think the drama is showing her growing feelings for XF, so I guess they won't show much about her and RY interaction.

I think at that period of time rules were compared to honor. If people don't follow the rules, they are discarded. So it's something's to keep in our mind. Yang is the guy with the flout. Maybe yan ye or something...to many names to keep up with in this drama.

I don't think it's fair to compare both dramas. While both were made by tvN, the budget for goblin was huge while BOTWG had very small budget. TvN was trying to entice Koreans by making comparisons between both. They already new that BOTWG is not gonna drew a lot of viewership due to the fact that it did not follow the original story and historical period. It was expected before hand as people in Korea like the stories to following the original story. I think if tvN invested a bit moreover in BOTWG, it would have been made much better. Saying that, I actually enjoyed BOTWG more than goblin. But the bromance in goblin was outstanding.

I personally thought shin se kyoung was amazing for this role. But the problem was with people lack of understanding of this drama is really about. It was more about greed and ambition of the main guy and how it led to his downfall. I loved this drama because it's unique and different unlike many silly dramas out there. And shin chrecter is about this socially awkward orphan girl who had nothing after the death of her family. Even her fortune was stolen by her mom friend who let her work in the factory all the time. Then, she leaves and meet the main guy who actually buy her a ticket to the US to start her studying. Though, he made so much money from her design and the money he bought her the ticket with was a payment, she seen that as the ultimate act of kisdness and stupidilly dedicate her life for him (losing her scholarship, kicked out of the design institute, do everything for him even steal fabric from the company he sends her to work for) but he kept dragging her down with every downfall he get. She would have got back to him have not the other guy intersipted his letter to her. I'm happy he done that, she she can start over as she really deserve to start over after being sucked out dry by the main lead.

Totally agree with you. There are hundreds if not thousands of silly lovey dovey dramas out there. Is that not enoght? Seriously, I feel that after this drama, Koreans just make silly dramas for what most people want to watch just silly unrealistic dramas. This for me, is one of the best dramas I watched.

I agree, however, she unintentionally saved her soul. As long as JM is in the human realm, the empress will keep trying to kill her soul. She cannot be protect for long by yang and RY.

Rating are improving. It was number 4 last Saturday. Can't wait for more episodes. Very good drama and it's difinatly not just about infidelity. There is so much going on...

There are couple of more epilogues that are missing from this link. I will try to find them and link them too. It's an addictive novel for sure. I read it several times already.

I don't think he reincarnates as the demon prince. After JM stabs him and he dies, part of his soul remains. Then, SJ takes that part to the demon realm. After JM spill the pill and knew what she's done, she decides to get a pill that will get XF back. Because he is so powerful, he quickly become the most powerful in the demon realm. he can't go to the heavenly realm as RY is the heavenly emptor and they both became enemies. When would this happen in the drama? I'm not quite sure yet but would think around or after episode 40. The drama changed a bit of stuff. In the novel, they went to the human realm after they were married. Thier life as humans was not part of the novel, but written in one of the epilogues the writer wrote after the novel. She wrote 5-6 epilogues as extinsion to the novel.

I don't think he ever predicted that JM father was going to be attacked by the empress. It was actually SJ who attacked Water God not the empress. The empress was already in prison that time. He though predicted that JM will be attacked by the empress and prepared to save her by bringing her dad-the water God and the empor on time to save her. He used JM to get rid of the empress ( when JM discovered what he did, she confronted him with this fact) He just wanted to get rid of the empress that badly that he used JM for that. He also knew who killed her father but never predicted that before hand. He actually wanted the water god alive to be his ally, but when he was killed he decided to use that to get rid of XF. He used the available circumstances for his advantage for sure and he used JM. I'm not excusing that but he did not know before hand that her father was going to be killed.
He tried to hold tightly to JM even after she knew about what he have done because he was that much in love with her that he could not give up at all. He achieved all his goals and became so powerful to discover that did not make him less lonely. Only by having JM by his side, he will be less lonely and happy that's why he could not let her go at that time (you can tell that when they both met at one of the epilogues when she was already married to XF and had his child. RY asked if she is happy and answered sure she is. Then, she said, surely you are happy too. But he only gave a little smile. In a matter of fact he was still lonely as ever and not happy even though he is so powerful). Again I'm not excusing that he wanted to keep her by his side, but I can understand that.
Finally, I don't think when he went to the demons world after JM run away from the heavenly world he was using JM. I think that he was so davastated that she left that he went immediately after her to get her back. It was one of the few actions that he made without calculating actually. Even he told that to XF. He told him, I came to get JM to the heavenly realm not for war. But XF was waiting for that to start the war. I think by her death could JM really could cut her ties with RY and show real redemption to XF. At the end what she did to XF, while could be understood, was so horable for him to endure.

I think the drama is diverting a bit from the novel. In the novel JM did NOT have any special feelings for anybody. She liked guys and girls equally. She did not have any special feelings for XF. He did have feeling for her but she did not due to the unfeeling pill. Also, when she knew she is engaged to RY she accepted that immediately and said to herself that it's nice to be engaged to such a nice calm guy who makes her comfortable unlike FX. That what she actually expressed when she was talking about the matter. She also immediately signed her name on the empirial declaration regarding their engagement and was never forced by RY to do so. She also started to spend so much time with RY and having breakfast with him daily, sleeping at his place, allow him to stay by her side all night, hug her, etc. that we did not see in the drama. JM was so oblivious about things that she was about to sleep with yang to get divine powers, but was stoped at the last minute by XF. Even when she slept with XF in the novel, it was about getting divine powers not because she liked him. She thought she will get divine powers after mutual cultivation and was so angry at XF when she checked afterwords to see she got nothing. And after sleeping with XF, she went to RY place to have breakfast with him and slept at his house. Then, he saw what happened in her dreams about sleeping with XF. She was that oblivious about things. So, from RY point of view it is a betrayal by his brother who had everything but did not want him even to have the girl he was engaged to for 5000 years before she was found to exist. For me, all main characters have thier flaws, but it's so interesting to see how we as readers/ audiences relate to the events of this novel/ drama differently.

I don't think any drama ever reached 40 billion views while being aired. The only drama that I know of that topped the 40 billion views were ten miles of peach blossom but it's just got to that recently after a year and half of being aired. So 4 billion views while airing makes a brama so popular.

I think that what he wanted originally, but when his brother sleeps with JM and he sees that through the nightmare beast he become so heart broken and feels so betrayed especially by his brother as he has in idea that JM does not really understand these things very well which she does not. She was so angry at XF after sleeping with him that she did not get any divine powers.

I have read the novel several times already. What I can say is that no one is perfect of the 3 main characters. The person I sympathized with the most though at the end is RY as he got the power that will let him protect himself and loved one, but lost his loved one. In the novel, we hear RY telling JM about how badly he was treated in both his mother and dad worlds. He never new what love is and when he find it, he thought Its justifiable to use his loved one to achieve his goals which ultimately will protect that loved one. He miscalculated for sure.
What worst to him was that JM stupidity with lack of understanding what does it mean to sleep with a guy, sleeps with his brother. So, for him, he was ultimately betrayed by the brother who had everything and he nothing, in the worst possible was. XF new about JM naiveness yet, goes to sleep with her betraying his brother in the worst possible way. Any guy in RY place with despise and hate his brother for doing so. He even told JM that he wanted to destroy his own soul when he knew through the nightmare beast that she and XF were together.

I think ur opinion is biased and u look at both chrarters in black and white. Which is not the case here. I read the novel several time and the person i felt the most for was Night. If you read the novel, then you know it is presented from JM perspective and how she saw thing and things told to her. Night shared to most intimate information with her when he talked about how badly he was treated at both his mother clan and then when he moved to the heavenly realm. He never new what love is and yes used JM but he loved her so much that he did not want to lose her and I believed him when he said he was even ready to give the crown up for her. He just wanted to have someone for himself and he could not even have that in the scheming heavenly realm. Additionally, he was betrayed the worst by his brother who slept with his bride to be with no regards for his feeling. XF not only betrayed his brother when he did that, he also led to his brother hating him when he knew that by the dream beast. Also, XF used JM naiveness and lack of understanding to what the meaning of being with him in that way mean. She thought she is getting devin power by doing that. He new exactly how niaive she was and still went ahead with that. Personally, both guys are not perfect and done nasty things. Judging night that harshly, while treating XF as an angel is just simplifying both charters badly and is not the right thing to do.

She did in one of the epilogues that came after the competition of the novel. The timing of her going to the mortal realm was different though. It was after she and XF were married. But I think the timing of their trial in the drama is better.
