This has a late 90s and 2000s JDrama vibes in terms of style and mood, and I’m vibing.

It’s so well written and interesting. What an enjoyable show— dark horse of summer 2023!

If only Mango TV can get their stuff together and work on their sub issues 🙏🏻

This series doesn’t have the worst kiss (Love O2O gets that recognition), but this series… has such ugly kiss scenes.

I love slow burns. I don’t even mind the pace. I don’t even mind the uninspired script. But why go out of the way to make the kiss scenes so ugly if there are going to be a number of them?

Not to mention the way the FL is written is just really annoying. She’s constantly failing, pouting, about to cry and apologizing… and in need of rescuing. And I’m not sure I like the FL’s acting here either. I’ve watched her other dramas and loved her, but found her grating here.

I realize that I’m ranting but this is quickly turning into a pet peeve and one of the more frustrating female characters.

I love this drama so much, it’s constant giggling, kick your blanket kind of saccharine sweet drama— I loved the ML and the FL and their chemistry together. Also loved the FL’s family, especially her dynamic with her brother. Victor Ma is the MVP for me in this series.


The only thing I couldn’t stand was ZLS’s baby voice. WHYYY.

But overall, it’s a cute story and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Then by all means, you date someone exactly your age, someone of exact same income and social status.

As for the rest of the world where age gaps are completely normal and healthy… we’ll let you be. You are entitled to your preference in dramas and dating.

But I don’t think you understand the definition of grooming. It does not apply here or in many of the relationships with age gap.

I emjoyed this series tremendously and even bought the novel.

She was either betrothed or thought she would marry someone else and she gave herself to him completely, only to have things change and she ended up being married off to WL.

She knew that he knew that she wasn’t a virgin, he kept it quiet and married her any way, though he never had any affection for her. I don’t know if she’s infertile— I always thought he just regarded her as used goods/impure and never touched her (just like how he switched the bedsheets of those he “conquered” from silk to linen, as the ones defiled by her are no longer deserving of silk bedsheets).

Basically, he didn’t consumate their marriage and they have no physical relations because he knew at the time of marriage that she wasn’t a virgin.

I haven’t read the novel, but from what I know and have seen of the husband, he looks like he is a good and moral character who will end up helping the FL.

The storytelling in this drama is quite unique compared to many other stories. I usually hate time jumps, but it just makes sense in this story, it’s organized well and does a good job introducing a new character and providing his/her backstory.

I’m just glad BAI SHU has finally arrived. YESSSS!!!

the airing schedule is so weird.

😂😂😂😂 I’m so surprised by the people who say things like, “it’s a terrible story! It’s so bad I skip chunks of minutes at a time, and I can’t follow the story!” 😒

you’d think it gets better in episode 19 when they share their first kiss as a couple, then in episode 21 when they’ve been a couple for awhile and the FL wants and yearns for kiss and so they kiss in her dream. Maybe finally we’d get a beautifully shot kiss. Nope. Still dead fish open eyed kiss. On every single one of them. I hate them.

Dropped because I couldn’t stand the FL. I jate the way her character is written, and unfortunately, Ren Min acted the character just as annoyingly as the character was written, and I found it torturous to watch.

Not to mention there’s no chemistry between the leads.

Many seem to love it. It’s not not for me.
