He and/or his management management are excellent at picking his projects. He’s been amazing in every single role he’s played, I’m surprised he’s not more popular.
It’s a cute fluff drama, but there’s No chemistry between the leads. FL’s acting is okay, but compared to the ML and the SML (Li Jiu Lin), both of whom are fantastic actors, the FL unfortunately doesn’t measure up.
Drama made in a different era for a different era. I enjoyed it when it first came out. Perceptions and societal norms, as well as what we find acceptable changed, as have I.
I too loved thise two dramas. So how about romance in this drama ?
Romance, especially chemistry is fire. The mature relationship and how the leads talk things through in a calm manner without tantrums is SO refreshing.
Every little look, glance, stare, banter, look of longing, look of desire, look of love— it’s all done well in this series
Squandered potential. More money was spent on LinLang scenes compared to the valley scene with fake grass, fake trees and fake everything where everything looked so cheap and unrealistic.
Wayyyy too much screen time given unnecessarily to the Di Cheng En character.
Bad CGI. Bad set. Bad script. Bad writing. Bad directing. Bad editing. Bad promo.
Where did they spend all their money?
I watched and enjoyed the show because I was invested in the characters, but the show takes a dive after episode 21. The actors carried the show, but I just can’t believe how they managed to mess things up this badly with the caliber of stars they were working with.
I don’t see what other people are seeing re: chemistry with the ML, but she did portray being a mom very realistically.
It’s worth your time
Otherwise this is a good fluffy drama.

Anyone else find the way the FL was written extremely frustrating?
My only issue is with the HMU on the FL. The team did a horrendous job, and the wispy bangs look awful. I hate it when bad HMU happens to good people.
