wow. he cries so pretty. He may not be the best actor, but he fits the role well and portrayed the character well. I think we willingly see a stronger Jing in S2

I read the novel but didnt read that he sacrificed one of his lives to save Jing. I guess I’ll go read that part of the novel again.

I still don’t see where he sacrificed 3+ lives for XY.

And I think it was 100k or 10k arrows that killed him.

When did he sacrifice another 3 lives for her? I know there was one when he killed the bug, and remember there being another, but definitely do not recall 3.

This was my question exactly too. Was the pain due to the lovebug, or was XiangLiu feeling her pain, then allowing her to feel his, or was he manipulating his heart so that she would feel pain, giving Jing the opportunity to get close to XY?

I wonder if she spit out blood from being heartbroken, or if it’s a side effect of the loversbug, because she is loving someone other than XL, therefore betraying XL and the bug planted in him.

With loversbug, if XY dies, XL also dies. Loversbug connects their hearts and souls. They live together and die together.

On episode 37, why did XY’s lovebug start acting up when she saw Jing at CX’s wedding? I remember reading in the novel, but can’t seem to remember.

When XY and XL meet again for the first time since her leaving the clamshell… after TSJ’s ascension as the clan leader, XY was visibly feeling nervous/hurting inside when XL called out her name, as evidenced by her facial expression and clutching at her sleeve. Actually, it looks like she even lost her breath for a minute… all of which did not go unnoticed by XL, who too felt all of her feelings and his eyes couldn’t help but react, as he went to her to comfort her.

I just have to give it up to the actors for all the little details.

This drama is just so, so good.

Now that I’m done with all the episodes, I can see how the ending of s1 for non-novel readers can feel anticlimactic.

I think we should see the end of s1 more of an intermission than an “end to a season” with a big finale

Whose acting impressed you the most in this series? Each actor brought something special to the table, and I’m not looking to bash anyone or to start a fan war, so if this is your intent, please move on.

I am blown away by Zhang Wan Yi’s portrayal of CX and absolutely am looking forward to him going crazy in S2.

I can’t state just how much watching a good actor on screen brings up the level of enjoyment so much. All the little details in his acting, the nuances, his presence, voice, diction— just everything was everything I envisioned for CX and more.

Although I was really disappointed with the 37 year clamshell arc, overall, I’m really grateful the production, the director and the actors did this IP justice.
