This has everything. Romance. Comedy. Angst. Action. Slice of life. I’m literally laughing out loud in almost all the episodes. If you’re wondering, this drama is worth your time. 10/10. For me, this is up there with the Story of MingLan and Story of Yanxi Palace which is perfect tv.

You don’t get to tell me what is and isn’t my taste in roles. There are plenty of characters that I’ve liked that were ruined by actors and plenty of characters that I did not like, but I grew to enjoy because of the actors.

I used to not be able to watch YangZi dramas because I found her voice and acting annoying and grating. There was a certain ditziness she brought to her roles, along with the high pitched cutesy voice. I dropped AOL and IS many times before finally pushing through, but wasn’t thrilled with her performances. No personal hate to her, I just have my personal preference in what I like and dislike. I like her as an individual and think she’s lovely, but this is the first time in actually impressed with her acting.
She won me over with this role. There’s just nothing bad to say about her acting here.

When she was in the water inside the cave recovering, it wasn't that he realized that she was a girl then, but he tried to get her to admit it, but once again, didn't push further when she claimed she was a man.
While he strongly suspects and believes that XY is indeed a girl, XL didn't have a way to verify it because her concealment was perfect (due to the face forming flower that's sealed in her), and also because XY kept denying it.

XY being hurt by TSJ was precisely because she chose to be hopeful about TSJ because she deemed him safe. The reason why she didn't have the same type of pain from LX was because she from the very beginning stated that she was afraid that "XL would appear in her dreams" because she knew full well that he wasn't the type who should appear in any girl's dreams. Though there was love, XY never opened her heart and allowed herself to be hopeful about her prospect with XL precisely because she knew that he was not a safe choice, and that their relationship was doomed from the start. Of course, she was attracted to him for reasons other than that he was safe, but between her two choices, she chose Jing because she believed that he would keep his promise about always being beside her.

It's not about who is the safest. XY doesn't love FengLong or CX in a romantic way. In her heart, she has TSJ and LX, but she knows that she will never admit to having love for LX, because she knows that they're destined for doom.
The reason why TSJ needs 15 years is because if XY was just Wen XiaoLiu, he could just become Shiqi and they can disappear together. But because she is the princess, he realizes that only his identity as TSJ would be worthy of her hand. First, he has to break off his long engagement, which in ancient Asian culture, is more a family affair than one we have in the west today. Second, he has to settle his business with his family, which his brother Hou was running down to the grounds with his incompetence and corruption. Further, he needed more time to build CX up, so that he would gain power, because only once CX was safe, would XY be able to safely focus on her own life, instead of living her life to support CX, going as far as using her own body to shield CX from harm.
Fenglong and CX aren't even a part of this conversation, because they were never really contenders, and XY, from the very beginning, only had XL and TSJ in her heart, which is made clear during her conversation with her grandfather when she asked him if it was possible to marry one who was engaged, or an enemy.
