I have only one doubt that's been on my mind ever since i got to know what happens later on . So XY dies and TSJ…
XY is a deeply flawed and traumatized character who is always one foot i. one foot out, for self-preservation. Lovic of healthy individuals and healthy relationships unfortunately isn’t a thing for XY yet.
I’m on episode 1 and already laughing out loud. One thing, though, is I'm always surprised at how different the corporate culture is presented in Chinese dramas. A lot of what happens would be considered extremely unprofessional in western countries.
Also, the product placement is too in your face and just awful in this series
Edit: On Episode 25 and so far so good. My only gripe is ZBB’s foundation shade. They take one of the most beautiful men in the world… and make him look like Hades from Hercules
I think it’s possible to empathize with fictional characters and feel their pain… but it doesn’t make sense to me to pretend a fictional character isn’t a made up character. You do you. I’m also heartbroken for XL
Can we please stop calling XiangLiu a vampire? XiangLiu is a creature from Chinese mythology that is a 9 headed venomous snake demon. XiangLiu has fangs because it is a snake, but doesn’t depend on human blood for survival like vampires do. Aside from the fact that they both have fangs, they’re not at all the same and it’s disrespectful toward and erasure of another culture to keep insisting on calling it vampire, the name of a Romanian mythical creature.
On ep 25…. when XY laid down on the same pillow as XL… who seemingly didn’t have an issue with their closeness or laying beside him… it was XL sadly and slowly put distance between them while looking at her with so many emotions flickering behind them…
and when she left, he opened his eyes after pretending to sleep… the loneliness and sorrow in his eyes…
If Tushan Jing just told her grandmother he’s marrying the Princess of Haoling, Yiying would be a total goner…
His grandma would be and against him marrying XY precisely because she is a princessc and the four prominent clans of the central plains have always stayed out ot politics.
Jing marrying the Princess of Haoling/Gaoxing would mean the Tushan clan is backing and standing behind the Xuan Yuan Prince as the next emperor.

Did it do justice?
and when she left, he opened his eyes after pretending to sleep… the loneliness and sorrow in his eyes…
His scenes are so impactful.
