A bit late but it's nice to know that Esther and ZLH just opened a Weibo account for their characters ~YWS -https://weibo.com/n/%E4%BA%91%E4%B8%BA%E8%A1%AB_%E5%B0%8A%E5%98%9F%E7%88%B1%E4%BD%A0%E7%89%88GZY…
I wish I could get a weibo account. I'm a sad panda. 😢🐼
She needed an ice cold bath or drink to slow the bugs?
He gifted it to her because her name (Yun) means cloud. The 1000 yr old ice is probably as cold as dry ice (−78.5 °C; −109.2 °F) and it sitting in room temp will make it produce what looks like clouds.
I would have been a pretty interesting and sweet gift, if the situation wasn't what it was. She probably did use it to relieve symptoms of her poisoning.
I do think the fight scenes are some of the best and absolutely well choreographed. The fight choreographer is…
What do you find illogical?
Wufeng's true motives haven't been revealed yet. (Everyone has guesses though)
We know that they have taken over all other sects, and the Gongs are the last holdout.
The Gongs are protecting a secret that would effect the martial art's world. We know wufeng is after that.
We know the spy girls are after information: About their secret weapons, layout, security information etc. Pretty sure YWS was suppose to marry the SW. Her raven did give her an erotic novel to research. lol
We suspect that fortnight flies are not something they have always used. They started using it because their spys would not report back in and disappear.
We still don't know who anon is. It might be Madam Wuji. The who, what, when, where, how about Anon hasn't been fully disclosed yet.
I think the show was filmed without the script being completely finished. Because there are so many plot holes…
If this were the end of the show, your comment would make sense. Being that it's only halfway through, I don't know where you are drawing your conclusions from. I'm sure your questions will be answered if you finish the show. ༼ノ◕ヮ◕ ༽ノ︵┻━┻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Gong Zi Shang does have an elder in her family lineage, which is her father. He has been alluded to so many times…
Also, wouldn't letting the daughters of the Gong clan go be a big risk to all the secrets that are kept on the mountain, since they are born and raised there. It would be easy pickings for wufeng to kidnap them and torture information out of them. The only one I think is allowed off the mountain is Jue family, to take care of outside affairs?
Gong Zi Shang does have an elder in her family lineage, which is her father. He has been alluded to so many times…
It's all speculation. I mean, I'm probably wrong with Gong Zi Shang and probably wrong with the other 2. I really don't care if I'm right or wrong. It's just something I thought about while making the "Family" tree. No big deal.
To touch on why I wont completely rule it out.
The other wife/concubine could be a Gong too. The Gong family doesn't really let in outsiders and are concerned about their own clans descendants. Their descendants are in decline because of the infertility issues, due to the miasma. Not sure how this story feels about cousins marrying, but I suppose they don't practice it, since they brought outsiders in for marriage selection for the SW, and other Gong family males.
The story emphasizes patriarchy, and I am curious to know what happens to the women born into the gong family. Especially, since it seems , they aren't allowed to leave.
Edit to add*** Oh, and males born to a mother with gong family blood, but not the father would technically still qualify for positions , in the gong family. They are blood related to the gongs..just maternally. As long as they are of age, present in the residence...etc...etc...
I'm loving the pace and particularly the fact that they've purposefully shied away from giving us big fight scenes…
There are gonna be so many tears when/if some of these characters get killed off. At the beginning of episode 12, and Gong Zi Shang was fake dead, I was like "Nooooo!". She is such a good representation of the sad clown paradox. I am looking forward to more of her story.
Silence of the Lambs was a classic. And even making that—I remember watching a documentary—was really hard…
One of the things different about this drama verses just about all other Asian dramas, It's not made like a 24 hour movie. Each beginning and ending for every episode is deliberate. I don't think there is going to be a race to the end , since the director is focused on the quality and content of each individual episode, and building up to the big picture.
It's a psychological thriller. They've managed pull off great twist and endings in movies less than 3 hours. Movies like.. "silence of the lambs" "Parasite". We've got like 13 hours left for the plot to unfold. I'm still satisfied with the pace of character and world building. Patience is a virtue, hopefully it pays off in the end. :D
Gong Zi Shang does have an elder in her family lineage, which is her father. He has been alluded to so many times…
Oh she did? I didn't catch that. However, men could have multiple wives ..so even that tidbit of information doesn't necessarily mean her father is of the Gong bloodline. If it makes you all feel better though, I'll take her name off my guess that her tie to gong bloodline is Maternal.
Gong Zi Shang does have an elder in her family lineage, which is her father. He has been alluded to so many times…
I know she has a father, buuuut....not sure if he is blood related to the gongs or married into gong family through mother. If Gong Zi Shang married Jin Fan....would their children's names be "Gong ???? Fan". That would start a new clan.....
While I was making it, I was thinking that maybe Gong Yuan Zhi's, and Xue Tong Zi's Mothers were the blood relation to Gong family and that is why no elders represent their clan? Because of patriarchy? *Shrug*
*Edit* Removed Gong Zi Shang from being included in my speculation that their tie to Gong family is maternal.
Question though. Why was GSJ so upset about the medical record? GYZ asked if it was because it reminded him of…
Probably a combination of things why he is so upset. He was completely duped and led on by Madam Wuji, and in the end he had presented his own mother's pregnancy record with his younger brother. Which, we presume are dead and could possibly have something to do with him not being chosen as SW 10 years ago, maybe. (That's my guess) So, he is embarrassed, and angry.
The kids are all Gong family, but different branches. Lets say the first SW had 3 brothers and those family members were assigned different task within the sect and designated as a clan. Then those task are inherited by each clans descendants. Among them, the SW can be chosen. (Just an example because there seems to be more that 4 branches. Shang, Jue, Xue , Yue, Yu, Hua, ect..I haven't figured that out yet.) So all the kids are related, mostly cousins.
I suppose in regards to different clans, there may be more than 4 but they are dying off, because of the infertility problems due to the miasma.
I dunno, when I watched LBFD, I saw her range of acting skills. She was awesome with the body switch w/ DFQC and…
Maybe it's the martial arts scenes in this show vs LBFD. LBFD really didn't have much on martial arts scenes, really just CGI blasting each other. The scene with Esther fighting in the muddy arena was pretty amazing, and I actually appreciated the slowmo. My jaw dropped and I was like "Orchid is that you?!?!" lol
