Just finished and wow, what a ride! Aside from my one little gripe about how they handled Bi Zhi’s character, this drama was amazing. Worth the watch. It had all the feels: laughs, tears, yelling at the screen, you name it. Honestly, it’s as close to perfect as it gets, so I’m giving it a solid 10/10. Highly recommend!
I'm on episode 34, and Bi Zhi is seriously frustrating me. He had a clear opportunity to do the right thing: honor his word to Wei Shao, rescue Wei Liang, and eliminate the threats: Da Qiao’s father, Liu Yan, and that obnoxious advisor who literally threatened his wife’s life. It all could’ve happened right there on the riverbank… but he completely blew it.
What’s worse is how out of character it feels. Up until now, the series has portrayed Bi Zhi as someone deeply committed to his wife, willing to risk everything for her. But in this moment, he makes a choice that leaves her in danger, still held hostage, rather than rescuing her. That contradiction is what makes this so irritating.
Strategically, it doesn’t even make sense. If he had killed Liu Yan and taken Da Qiao’s father as a hostage, there would be no one left with the power or authority to order her execution. DQ’s father certainly wouldn’t act without Liu Yan’s support, and with Liu Yan dead, his army would likely fall into chaos without a leader or an heir.
It just feels like a massive missed opportunity and a disservice to Bi Zhi’s character arc. Smh.
Something is very off here. We have very capable men dying very quickly. I agree with something. Someone wrote…
I think the masked man is attempting to use ZH to get rid of other people after the artifact, use ZH to find the artifact and then abuse ZH's trust in him to kill him.
I need someone to hold my hand and explain to me like I’m stupid 😮💨ok, is Zhu Yan (Zhao Yuan Zhuo)…
ZYZ is said to be the most powerful demon, though he’s not exactly the king of demons. Instead, he’s a guardian of the wilderness, where demons come from. WX is also a guardian of the wilderness. Their job is to protect humans from demons and demons from humans.
Why do I get the feeling that to hit that 100% mark, MS will have to make the ultimate love sacrifice? Well, it’s a fantasy drama, so fingers crossed for reincarnation. Or since it’s a video game world, maybe she just needs to die for a do-over. Infinite lives, anyone? 🎮❤️🔄 ***posted this as a reply somewhere else but thought it would be good as a standalone comment as well. 😎🤪 ***
I think moving forward, the next arc is about figuring out ZiQi's past and it would probably connect to the Resentful…

ZYZ is going to struggle expressing his love for WX because of that annoying pact she made him sign. Now they’re stuck working together as colleagues, not lovers, until they resolve it. But it’s clear early on that they have feelings for each other and there are moments where they do express their feelings, but ZYZ experiences backlash from the pact and is stopped. 💔📄
As the story unfolds and ZYC gets to know ZYZ better he starts to understand him and his difficulties.

I agree, that’s just his style. Watching it at 1.5x speed is a great tip for anyone who finds the pacing too slow. Personally, I enjoy watching it as is because it really shows how the characters are feeling. They’re on a mission, and none of them expect to come out unscathed. They’re either thinking they’ll die or sacrifice so much that life afterward won’t be worth living.
I'm on episode 10 and it's getting a bit tiring. The plot between Pai Sijing and her brother wasn't very good,…
I think I understand what you all mean by ‘pacing.’ It feels like Jiu and Lei are the only ones with a bubbly personality, delivering their lines like normal people. Meanwhile, the rest of the characters seem to be stuck in slow motion, speaking in this drawn-out, melancholy way. So, even though there’s a lot happening in each episode, it feels like the information is being delivered in slow motion. I don’t mind it though; all of those characters are depressed, and their gloomy speech and tone expresses that.
Guys which one should Istart first this or SOTPG or FOF?
I’m watching all three dramas, and they’re all really good, IMO. The stories are engaging, the characters are relatable, and the cinematography is impressive. The CGI is pretty good too, even though TSOPG doesn't have nearly as much as FOF or this show.

I appreciate your takeaways, and they do align with my conclusion at the end of my rant. Life can be unfair, and sometimes it’s just unfair, no matter what you do and how you change. (Talking about some other deaths like the big guy, Concubine Yan, etc.)
Unfortunately, that “happy ending” isn’t a next life experience. It’s more of a “what if” alternate story, imagining a scenario where the fire in Qingzhou never happened. Perhaps the point of the story is to illustrate how the actions of one person can have a profound and devastating impact on the lives of many others, creating a ripple effect. It’s about consequences in general.
Just finished watching and I gotta say, I have some pretty mixed (okay, mostly negative) feelings about it. Honestly, the show started with promise—great cast, intriguing plotlines, and enough drama to hook anyone who's a sucker for emotional rollercoasters. But somewhere along the way, it just fell flat, like a story that forgot where it was heading.
What really gets me is how much it lacked substance. Sure, it had a few intense scenes and moments where you thought the characters would finally find a sliver of hope, but nope, it was just one long stretch of misery without any payoff. Every time it seemed like someone might catch a break; the plot swerved to make sure everyone stayed miserable. By the end, it felt like all those hours of investment were for nothing. No one got a happy ending, not even the viewers.
The build up to the end left me feeling hopeless, to be honest. It's not just that it didn't have a typical happy ending; it felt like it had no ending. Like, what was even the point? Just pain for the sake of pain? It left me with this weird sense of emptiness, wondering why I sat through it all. If you're thinking about watching this, at least, go in knowing that you'll probably come out on the other side feeling like you've been sucker punched with a reminder that life can be unfair and not in the profound way that makes you reflect, but in the way that makes you question why you bothered in the first place.
I really enjoyed how they wrapped up the series. It leaves room for a second season if they decide to continue, but the finale was satisfying enough to stand on its own. The characters’ personalities clearly indicate her choice. Da On accepts her completely, and Justitia loves Da On and would be happy living as a human. However, if there is a second season, there’s plenty of material to explore, especially with Bael and likely Gremory opposing her humanity.
I just have to give a shoutout to Esther for her incredible ability to play Moe/Meng (萌) characters. She nails that perfect mix of innocence, cuteness, and charm that makes these characters so lovable.
Her big eyes and pouty lips make her appearance perfect for these roles, adding to the overall charm. Plus, as someone who watches a lot of anime, I don’t find her voice annoying at all, in fact, I think it’s super cute!
I’m kinda disappointed, the bai goddess seems so weak and her character rarely adds anything
I don’t think the Baize goddess is supposed to be super powerful. The first goddess was supposed to die from the plague but ended up committing suicide, and WX’s master was killed.
It seems like the Baize Token is meant to be shared with the most powerful demon, so the demon can protect the goddess and help her protect the wilderness. It’s kind of like a magical buddy system.
