I actually really enjoyed the book, read it twice in fact. So it probably depends on your personal taste. The book is actually quite relationship focused.

Yes Reba was locked too long, I want more relationship scenes more than fighting scenes but oh well! I think most audiences would prefer more relationship sugar.

If I had to guess what happened in the trailer....Shunde is sending a bunch of spirit master to get JH actually - if they follow the book. I bet the Fox Princess will try to convince CY to hand JH over to them. He gets upset and that’s why he blasts her!

It doesn’t grab your heart cause they tone down the torture part.
Man the best torture scene so far was when Shunde whipped JH to force CY to speak. That crack of the whip was intense!
