What dramas do you like out of curiosity?

I think after this incident, I expect the Main leads to be scrutinized like crazy especially for big budget dramas. Kris was known to have this sort of dark rumors in his history...I'm sure heads are rolling at Tencent. Their stock tanked as well.

Actually Kris Wu was born in China. Why would they deport him to Canada? Sure he has a Canadian citizenship now, but technically he's Chinese born and bred. Seems like they are throwing their trash to another country. I was born in Canada, don't need that trash coming back.

I heard OOL is due to Hunan TV bought the rights to the drama, Tencent can't do anything about it. It was supposed to be aired in 2020 but that didn't happen due to you know what (again, not Tencent's fault).

So I tried to find information about how much a 2 bedroom condo outside of Shanghai would cost. I could only find the cost of buying outside of Shanghai city center for 2021 at 4,565.17 RMB per square foot. Let's just assume most 2 bedrooms are around 700 square feet? That would be 3.2M RMB in 2021 prices, since the book was written in 2017, let's say the price was 25% cheaper then 4,565.17 so 3,423.88 RMB a square feet which would make his house around 2.4M RMB in 2017. Are loans over 30 years in China like in the US? Assuming a 20% down payment at 4% interest rate over 30 years then just the mortgage portion would be 9300 RMB but that doesn't include property taxes, insurance or condo fees. Then you still have water, garbage, electricity internet fees. Yu Tu, won't have much money left!

So when was this book written? (I thought it was a few years ago because some things are outdated now). I believe I read somewhere that the timeline for this is not current. Anyways, the ML got help from his family for a down payment for his condo - it seems to be at least 2 bedrooms as his buddy moved in temporarily. To be honest I'm surprised he's able to afford a place, so the book must be written a few years back. So some good portion of his money is going to his mortgage and we know he can't afford a car and he wears pretty much the same clothes. What are income taxes like in China?

I did not watch all of Flames Daughter either...couldn't hold my attention. Did you watch all of the PillowBook? Because FengJiu early on is very young so she's supposed to be a spoiled child in the first dozen episodes. Dilraba doesn't act like a kid really well if you ask me but it did get much better once the Heavenly Arc started. Personally I find she's better suited for modern drama like Pretty Li Huzen, Sweet Dreams, Love Designer and YAMG. Her performance in The Long Ballad was good too, she's much better suited for strong female roles....but I will watch Legend of Anle since it's supposed to be a strong female character.

Which dramas have you watched of Dilraba and how many episodes? I've watched a lot of her dramas and seen definite improvement over the years. China Entertainment Industry is in the business of making money, and they make it by traffic. Xiao Zhan, Wang Yibo, Simon Gong, Dilraba etc have insane traffic and investors line up to get them into their dramas. I would argue that the top traffic actors are not there because they are the "best", they are there because they are #1) The best looking and #2) have decent enough acting skills. Unfortunately in the Chinese Ent, as a female actor, you can't really age. Zhao LiYing is in her mid 30s she probably only has a few more years left as those big production dramas usually have characters that are teenagers.

Yep, so anti fans create like 20 accounts to give dramas bad ratings to help their idols as well. So then the fans will also create 20 accounts to counter attack and give the drama high ratings...this is what happens on Douban all the time. But usually, Douban has some algorithms to filter some of them out. Not sure what My DramaList has but maybe they can be smart and look at the IP address.

I know Douluo Continent was broadcasted on TV too. Whereas YAMG is a web drama only.

Yes, I wonder if they did what they did with You Are My Glory. It was originally 27 episodes but they made it 32 by shortening the episodes to 30 minutes! Seriously!

Yup, these are what Cnetizens call black or anti fans. In China they had armies to take down actors like Xiao Zhan in 2020 and still active today. Dilraba is also extremely popular so they like to mess with her too.
