Gong Jun is strongly rumored to star with Dilraba in mid July for Emperor Book (Legend of Anle). According to Weibo search, both have signed.

My search on Weibo seems to say this as well that both parties (Reba and Jun) have signed the intent. Booting is mid July, it will take 120 days of filming, 40 episodes, target is TV. Looks like we will have a very good looking main cast!

Yes I have no idea how bank loans are done there either but I do believe if it was more in his favor to break the contract he would have by now. Long Danni said that if she knew how popular XZ would get, she wouldn't have agreed to the renegotiation. Good thing XZ had great insight to sue sooner.

I wonder if he can take out a bank loan. If you think about it, he has 5 years left at least, if he only gets 15-20% cut then depending on how much he can earn, it could be worth it to pay it off with a loan. I think the max an actor can make for a drama currently in China is 50 million yuan, so if he can make 2 dramas a year, that's 100 million, plus it's like 2 million per appearance fee, plus all his endorsements. So it's possible I get for him to get 150 million yuan a year.

Reba is shooting 2 Youku drama's this year, no Tencent dramas that we know of at the moment. Tencent probably doesn't think the drama needs much marketing since Reba is consider top female traffic star at the moment.

Also her contract with Jaywalk is about to expire end of this year is what the Weibo rumor mill has stated - in fact Gao Weiguang is also expiring. Jaywalks wants to resign her and they probably don't want to piss her off either.

Let's just face it, China is still very patriarchal and modernization hasn't changed this. And if you are a Chinese actress and can't "look" young, your career is pretty much over. Also most directors are men, and in so many dramas females are type casted as needy, naive and impulsive while men are the heros.

Earlier days of Dilraba's roles, she didn't have any control over her dramas. She basically said in an interview that she listened to whatever she was told. Recently in 2020 I noticed a change in her attitude. She's a lot more confident in herself. I guess she came to some sort of epiphany but in her more recent interviews she is more vocal about equality between men and women. In her more recent dramas, her roles are more "strong" female type - successful female characters (like Zhou Fang in Love Designer), Li ChangGe...I'm guessing her current Blue Whisper character will be a strong female as well.

She so thin right now for Blue Whisper. Also Yang Yang bulked up for Vanguard then dropped tons of weight for You Are my Glory. He looked so amazing with all those muscles!

I wonder if he can buy out his contract? There must be a way to pay it out but then he needs the funds to do so.
