There are Douban ratings that put 0 because they didn't like the trailer or just after 2 episodes for reasons like the female lead still looks like a girl? Or her lips are too red when she's a man. Like really? I feel like these people don't seriously respect the hundreds of people in the production crew that works on these projects. I follow some folks that worked in the actually Chinese entertainment industry and they literally get no sleep for months. They are so stressed out that they have to take blood pressure meds to control their condition.

For me, so far I really enjoy how it's different than your typical main stream CDrama is a woman can be capable as a man. If you have followed any of Dilraba's interviews, equality is really important to her, that just because she is almost 30, it doesn't mean her career is ending. For her, it's only starting (just like it is for men). Anyways, if you know of any other good costume dramas with strong female leads let me know!

No, filming started March 28th, 2020 and took several months. But yeah, it's probably a stepping stone to more mature roles. You can only do cutsie for so long. Don't know why so many people think it's beneath ZLS to take a second female role to Reba. Reba is tier 1 after all according to the China Screen Actors Guild rankings - along with Yang Mi, Zhao Li Ying, Song Qian. Even Tiffany Tang didn't make tier 1.

Also some of these scenes, like Change falling into the water and starts choking also saves the actors from having to do dangerous scenes.
