Correct, I wouldn't describe it as evil but as archaic.
WHW may have been successful but her autocratic managerial style has limitations.

We were told rumours, reputations were critical in Hagwons in the first episode and given an example how a workplace affair quickly spread and it was forced to shutdown.
The rumour (lie) being spread is FL seduced ML when he was a student by the Hyenas, parents. This isn't about their interoffice relationship as adults.
Clearing up the lies will occur in the next episode.
Ambition or loyalty? I’m glad Teacher Nam choose loyalty. Seems they’re a few teachers behind the couple.LOL,…
Integrity, courage are in short supply in society. Ms. Nam isn't taking the short cut. Mr. Pyo may leave because the WHW failed to understand his red lines.
Most people refuse to act slowly, think critically about the situation. I expect FL will become the Lioness and those hyenas will learn their place.
Daebak, just watched Ep. 1 and was amazed by the intense "fighting" scene between FL and the teacher from school…
There's several intense arguments in this drama that makes it stand out. The actors have commented on this extra "long dialogue" in behind the scene clips. You won't be disappointed by the writing or acting.
They are not comparable at all. In those two instance the ex-bf were in an actual relationship for years. In his…
Are we watching the same show?
In those two dramas the FL was in a multi year relationship, this drama doesn't have anything resembling that.
Do you think South Korean s are unique and don't have the same workplace romance/interoffice politics?
The article would capture the same results in South Korea.
They will use the excuse FL is the Team Lead superior and ML is her Junior. That applies to all situations with direct reports in the workplace. No one should dispute those optics are bad.
2015 Adultery was decriminalized in South Korea, why?
One of the aspects I loathed about SITR and OSN was how over the top psycho FL's exs became to provide both an…

In his own words " I'm idiot and a fool that the Vice Director is playing him. (That sums up his actions betrayal towards the FL. This isn't unrequited love.
It's not her fault that idiot has a crush. The coward refused to act, get rejected and move on. Those were his choices to watch from the sidelines.
Interoffice romance is a problem primarily because one of them or both may have an existing relationship. * Read Forbes article
Instructors remain competitors within the Academy, Instructor Na Min describes them as Hyenas. This is true to most workplaces. Other Academies will exploit this to cause more reputational harm.
Reality, we have favourites, in School, at work and life's not fair.

You in comments section earlier. ...."Mostly everything else was a snoozefest, (like, you know it's bad when you fast forward and missed nothing of note) and not because of the actual content but because of the pacing, I think. Like last week, I felt like some of the scenes went on wayyyyy too long to explain very little."..
The dialogue is clearly too complex and boring for you and that's okay.
You share the same bias of the negative comments.
This isn't a light hearted romantic comedy. This isn't Hallmark production.
Subject matter, cultural differences, interoffice politics may be too steep a hill for some viewers. (That's okay)

Hagwon's (Private education) are not similar to North America/Europe.
Rural communities, smaller towns, where you don't have the population, vehicles especially at night.
This is where we required to suspend reality in most films, dramas.
Rambo survives vs 500 cartel members, Russian military, Vietcong. Terminator can't kill a kid/woman but takes out military, police like candy. Koreans tripping and being caught instantly being attracted to each other Villain evading everything camera/Police until the last episode.
You can't use realistic to describe most things out of from the entertainment industry.

There's very little filler in this drama.
Interoffice politics, envy are subject matter is too dry.
They skip scenes with dialogue and can't follow along afterwards.
You have to trust the writer/director on them delivering a happy ending for the Hagwon and the couple.
WHW overplayed her hand we see her extending herself financially by partnering with Hyenas.
If you're too anxious because of tearing up in episode fourteen, wait until the last four are banked.
Kdramas are formulaic last episode is the wrap up happy ending.
Epilogue: they're married. (Fingers crossed)
Chatting, sharing a coffee doesn't mean they are into you.
This isn't a documentary.
My prediction is based on the storytelling and understanding what the writer/director has shown us for fourteen episodes.
Why do you think Mr. Pyo vs WHW have had two meetings with her telling him to shut up and do as he's told?
Pure speculation albeit the breadcrumbs:
A Team
FL/ML
Ms. Nam's integrity vs short term gain.
Mr. Pyo will leave WHW.
Hyenas -B Team
Vice Director, Korean Instructor, Lead English Instructor would see workplace destroyed fail.
B Team will lose

Entire movie spans senior year Highschool.
Does this drama encapsulate third year Highschool, University, career, wedding day?
A decade in the storytelling?
