Different dramas appeal to different tastes. I see youâre watching guardians of dafeng - a very different type drama. Maybe youâre enjoy that more. You are right that the hype may give you higher expectations. Many people have expressed different reasons why they like it. Maybe theyâre not the criteria that makes you enjoy a drama.
A few reasons For me :
- quality detailed costuming - fleshed out characters regardless of whether they are âgoodâ or âbadâ. - no forced romance, flows with the plot instead of the plot supporting the romance. - actions for the most part are consistent with the characterâs character - good balance of humor, angst, drama, romance, politics - engaging - creative story telling - no overboard skin smoothing!
Not sure why eps1/2 were no go for you. I rewatched them back while waiting for new eps and found so much more details I missed the first time around.
I guess the kisses are on the later half? On ep20 and still none!
I am not sure what kind of kinship you are hoping for but you will be disappointed if you are looking for juicy kisses. The love and romance is there but no in your face kissing.
HE or SE? is it really worth 8.9? that's pretty high view like JOL ranking.
Itâs probably better than JOL although theyâre both close. Whatâs nice about this drama is the balance of all elements - chemistry, cinematography, politics, fleshed out characters, pacing, storytelling, directing, acting. Ml is actually riding a real horse because he knows how to. The costuming is amazingly detailed and exquisite. You can tell the love, care and dedication poured into it.
I am enjoying the drama, but it is starting to have so many similarities with LLTG, I am tempted to rename it…
Interesting - I donât see that at all but I didnât sense that strong of chemistry between the leads as I do here. And the 5 yr suffering towards the end didnât make sense to me.
How long has it been now since itâs ended? I still cannot get past it. Thought about continuing Under the Skin 2 but so hard to think of some thing that has romance, not forced, intrigue, with good story telling and cinematographyâŠ.
I miss the first batch of people who were watching this show. These later batches some of them just keep ranting…
I did enjoy the excitement and camaraderie as we eagerly awaited the next episodes. It was so fun. However, I agree that later folks have the spoilers and higher expectations due to the hype and reviews so they are probably more critical and forget about all the other disappointing dramas thus far.
