Nah, your feelings are valid. Personally, I attribute this to the director or whoever is in charge of creating these characters. Princess Lin’s current character draws little empathy from the audience (different from the role she played in new life begins). Good portrayals will invite the audience to connect with the characters. so far, it’s the opposite effect. Even the scene where she’s trying to save face by letting him wait on her looked cruel though I assume it was supposed to be humorous.

Started this from Blossom. It’s a different vibe and not as engaging as Blossom but so so. Humorous drama. The princess LingAn misunderstanding has annoyed me. So far, the depiction of her is not very favorable even though she’s the FL. She’s supposed to be mischievous but instead, she’s presented as an annoying, bratty, useless, dishonest person. I Don’t blame the actress. Just describing how the characters are presented.

Blossom is one of the top 5 best dramas of 2024 for AvenueX. Regardless of how you feel about her reviews, this is great for our drama to get more views. I’m also glad she enjoys it because she was getting bored by the many typical lackluster masses of idol dramas.

That was a lovely drama. I ended up,buying a matcha whisk because of it! Lol… don’t know when I’ll ever use it.

Guys - it’s been 9 days and I am still yearning for another good drama. Started guardians of dafeng - the misunderstanding trope is beginning to annoy me. Tried Begin Again - maybe I’ll revisit it.

According to the producer they hired award winning costume design team that specialized in Ming dynasty costuming. I loved the details!

You’ve gotta lower your expectations a few notches for My Uncanny Destiny. It’s a low budget drama and it’s apparent. But funny if you like that kinda humor.

Enjoy in all aspects is tough. Few dramas can so that.

Different dramas appeal to different tastes. I see you’re watching guardians of dafeng - a very different type drama. Maybe you’re enjoy that more. You are right that the hype may give you higher expectations. Many people have expressed different reasons why they like it. Maybe they’re not the criteria that makes you enjoy a drama.

A few reasons For me :

- quality detailed costuming
- fleshed out characters regardless of whether they are “good” or “bad”.
- no forced romance, flows with the plot instead of the plot supporting the romance.
- actions for the most part are consistent with the character’s character
- good balance of humor, angst, drama, romance, politics
- engaging
- creative story telling
- no overboard skin smoothing!


Not sure why eps1/2 were no go for you. I rewatched them back while waiting for new eps and found so much more details I missed the first time around.
