My thoughts:
Ml’s dad finds out about the subpar materials and confronts his business partner (smls dad). To conceal his crime, sml’s dad kills ml’s dad ( whether premeditated or accidental) and puts all the blame on ml’s dad. He swoops in and marry the wife and surveillances ml to keep check and make sure hi crime never gets discovered. This explains why he keeps supporting that concrete subcontractor.

Good analysis. Sadly, this family dynamic is not uncommon irl and the abused child continues the cycle in adulthood. There was a notorious murderer (Richard Kuklinski) nicknamed “the iceman” who suffered unimaginable abuse as a child from his father and went on to become a ruthless/emotionless killer. Usually, everyone is fearful including the spouse. Considering the trauma the mother character went through and the personality of her second husband, I’m not surprised her character to be so weak, passive, and out of touch. Seems like she’s not recovered herself from her husbands passing.

Since this is dramaland, I do hope Pei will break free and move towards recovery from his father’s horrific grip.

I recently watched Had I not seen the Sun I & II and it touched on the domestic violence and its effects. Very sad and tragic.

You should’ve seen the blossoming love. Maybe I shouldn’t mention the drama but the comment activity regarding SML here pales in comparison. I dare say the two mentioned dramas combined probably don’t even compare. Hahaha…

Loved the best thing. Similar to lbl drama because leads look so fine and gorgeous. Well dressed. So warm and sweet. I remember feeling all snuggly watching it. But then others might find it boring.
