I am only on episode 18, so this may come up in later episodes, but I am perplexed as to why Nan Heng's father…
He is threatened by his wife’s family. He married her not out of Love but for power so therefore, doesn’t like NH for that reason. Feels threatened by NH’s maternal family.
I was kinda shocked when I saw someone complain about the FL and brought up that scene where she said, "Plot…
Yes! The cliff jumping was hilarious. How many times have ANY lead character ever died after falling off a cliff?? I can only think of one - crouching tiger hidden dragon ending where female actress jumped off the cliff.
And the aftermath left me in tears… then laughter… such a crazy fun drama.
You know all those dramas where it starts out great and gets shakey in the middle and is just sloppy or unhinged…
Very glad you decided to stick through the end. Many dramas fizzle towards the end like stale soda but very few end as strong as the beginning. You can tell they all put their heart into it.
I'm in the same predicament, I was enjoying it, but the FL character is killing it for me I'm at episode 25 and…
Glad you enjoyed it!!! Him 99% , her 1% but once she did, there was no turning back. She loved him with all her life (the one thing she worked so hard to preserve she readily gave up in hopes of saving him). Consistent to her stubborn personality.

Hang on. She’s stubborn. For ever inch she moves closer to him, an iconic scene occurs and ‘her’ reality hits and she pulls back. For someone like her (SXY) who seldom take risks, it makes sense. The drama points this out to her too later.
He on the other hand, has always been misunderstood but also is plotting to take the throne. The drama is leading our hearts to fall in love with him (just like the actor’s agent demanded in ep 1). I mean, I’d be next in line if he gives up on her. Hahah.
What’s great about this drama is that the replay (what she’s experiencing) after the production meeting has changed per agent request. She’s also instrumental in changing Nh b/c she’s sxy in SYM’s body.
I love the fact how ADWAD is revenge for the producers of A Journey To Love, but especially for Liu Yuning.Ning…
Thanks for sharing the snowman reference. Because I’m not a native speaker, gotta rely on others to share. Like the scene where he dropped the phone on the table after watching a clip of ajtl, referencing another interview critique.
If you want to enjoy this drama, you have to put yourself in FL's shoes. However, if you love Nan Heng, it won't…
This needs to be reposted constantly to remind veiwers. We get so used to other idol dramas where girl meets boy and they fall in love.
This poor girl doesn’t want to even meet him, doesnt want to fall in love, and each time she moves an inch towards him, an iconic scene happens, her minds is reminded of the ending., and she’s back at square one. 😂
I’m a bit confused..in the beginning she read a script about how cruel NH..no wonder she hate him..but after…
Exactly - she happened. It may have played as the original script if SYM’s character were like the script BUT SXM is different. She’s not interested in following the same script. From the get go, she tries to change it by marrying cgh. She also is a different personality compared to SYM. Nh did plot to use SYM for political gains and may have become more ruthless had he met SYM instead of sxy. You would pity SYM instead of Nh had sxy not stepped in.
i feel a strong start till ep 20, annoying up to ep 25, and boring till ep 30. i havent continue it, i lost my…
Sorry to hear. For me, it was a very enjoyable and well made production. Comedy, suspense, drama, political strategizing, a bit of romance. The constant satire and poking fun of all things relating to Chinese idol dramas and the amazing background music perfectly timed was a joy to watch.
There are any messages that applies to humanity, loving, etc. her character’s (SYM) father has so many good philosophical lines. Like : you cannot wake someone who wants to be asleep - referring to cgh.
His respect for Nh also grows - from complaining about wasting his best tea on Nh to voluntarily pouring and offering Nh his best tea. He witnesses the way each man treats his daughter and gradually changes mí mind on who is best for her. These subtle gestures are easily missed but makes it all the richer.
MAny ppl struggled with the female lead stubbornly hanging onto her prejudice against Nh. It’s painful for us to see him suffer so much - misunderstood by everyone including the fl. I try to remember that I get 20/20 vision but the characters don’t. She’s not the typical amazing super smart, hard working girl. She’s a lazy bum really, but does have a heart for those she loves once she’s invested in them. It just takes a while for her up get there. She generally views herself as a person inside a script and is mainly interested in living a cushy life as the SYM. This shapes the way she treats the characters - like she doesn’t think the ml will die b/c he’s the ml. However, her affection for him does grow subtle, just that her brain denies it and holds off.
Why is Chu Gui Hong always jumping to conclusions? Literally no evidence and he assumes a motive and pegs the…
The way I look at it, he’s the foil to Nh. Where Nh can do no right, cgh can do no wrong - in th e public eye. BUT they are polar opposites. Cgh represents all those who, once they believe/make a judgement on a person, they will never be sway no matter how much the evidence show otherwise. sadly, there is truth to this type of personality in real life. His character will continue to spiral downward b/c of his obsession that Nh killed his father.
As unlikeable a character he is, he is a bit of a tragic character as well. The 2ml never gets the girl and here, he falls further to the dark side.
And the aftermath left me in tears… then laughter… such a crazy fun drama.

This drama holds a special place in my heart and will be one which I’ll be rewatching! So enjoyable.
