Had no idea this was released until it “magically” appeared on my screen. 4 episodes later, I’m so glad it’s out. The chess board has been laid out, the players introduced! Let the games begin. So engaging. Loving the camerawork and acting. Can’t wait until the next episodes.
can anyone tell me if this is a female centric drama?
I feels female centric to me. She’s a very smart cookie. I’m like - whoa, almost too smart it’s ubelievable! Feels like Mr and Mrs Smith (american movie) with two badass leads.
Is this like the something brocade where the ML started with 3 wives/2 died. Then 1 new concubine and 2nd official…
Nah, this is very different. The other was more like a bunch of catty women and very melodramatic. this is more like her fending off all the enemies regardless of their genders and positions. It’s more thrilling.
Finally finished it after putting it on hold for a month and not having anything else to watch. I had stopped at ep 20 because it was getting a bit boring. Finishing it off felt a bit like a chore however, WAY’s amazing looks and and good acting helped me along.
Probably could’ve chopped off 4-5 episodes. I have mixed feelings about this drama. Probably could be really enjoyable with better directing, storytelling and FL.
I binged through this drama while waiting for new releases of Qingchuan's Veil of Vengeance which is also directed by the same director. Very well paced, directed, and acted drama, better than some of the long ones currently airing! suspense, action, romance, joy, and sadness all covered.
6 eps in and still engaging. The director and production crew are very good. They know how to use their resources well. Doesn’t look cheap! now I want to know more about her brother!

Lol…. Oh the dilemma. I cannot advise you what to do. Worst thing is that you’ll end up dropping it. It has its merits. I enjoyed WAY’s performance and some of the chemistry between the main leads but it’s not on the level of “The Best Thing” for me. the storytelling is kinda lacking imo.
I’ve watched through ep 20 and decided to check out his other drama (Such a Good Love) a few months ago. I may come back and finish it.
If you are a fan of WAY - he’s very handsome here and his acting is soooo good.
