People are hating on her a lot, just go through the comments, they just don't see/get her condition. They're assuming she's doing everything on her right mind. All those are taking the Ex-husband's viewpoint and not hers. Seriously people have no idea what a nightmare depression can be and are confusing it with sadness. It's not just sadness. Also, it doesn't even need for anything major to happen to trigger it, even though for Seon-Ah did go through something big, it can start with the slightest of negative thoughts. There's a reason it's a mental disease and not a state of mind. :(.

What's up with this horrible rating. Is this really that bad?
Umm, 8.1 is not a 'horrible' rating unless you watch just like the top 1% dramas. This is not Viki. On another note, the ratings don't justify how brilliant this show has been, (to me atleast, and many at the comments section).

Ah I love this so much, this is legit like a breath of fresh air among all k dramas I've watched. Sorry 2521, I think this might take your place as the year's best ;p. Anyways the two recent episodes were quite nice, I want them to give the kids' storyline a little more screentime and show more of their struggles. They've crossed a major hurdle but a ton are left. As for Dong Seok and Seon Ah, they've definitely got an intresting relationship. A lot of people are judging Seon Ah, I won't blame them but I however don't. They both grew up under abusive families and Seon Ah's life after her parents' death was lifeless, so I wouldn't look at her with an average person's viewpoint. She's clearly not normal, she's..well broken. And she never got a chance to fix herself up completely. She was going through depression while dating, marriage and even had a kid, which are all questionable decisions, but she had no real friend who she could talk to nor a parental figure, so she probably went with the flow. Now what she ignored for so long is coming back to bite her, hence the recent events. She has completely attached her emotional health to her kid. I think Dong Seok is a good influence on her and is mentally strong as well. So he might be a healing touch for her, teaching her to be happy. People saying Seon Ah is not a good influence on her, who are we to judge, he's with the love of his life fully knowing the circumstances and consequences so how can he be not happy? I used to think people should fix themselves up and then begin a relationship in a healthy manner, I still do to some extent. But if you find someone who totally knows your situation and is understanding of them, and both parties are aware of what they are getting into, there's just no point delaying it, you'll only lose time spent with each other, it's just better to take it slowly. Seon-Ah's previous relationship was lacking this, her ex knew she was depressed but I don't think he ever understood what it was nor did he ever try to, he just assumed she'll get over it someday by herself.

Are we ever getting a S2? Finished it awhile back, liked it but understood basically nothing exactly what was happening or why it was happening. If anyone has read/reading the manhwa, can you please give a brief about the hell dimension and the extraterrestrial beings/monsters/demons under a spoiler tag, and why they're killing and if the killing is really random?

Ya, that line almost brought me to tears, I mean most guys don't expect to be told they're loved from their sons,…
I knew he didn't mean his job but his personality. I meant the job thing in general, also the dad is so used to be looked down upon because he's an ex-thug and now even in his job, he's taunted constantly because of it. He hates himself and his inability that that's the only job he can do being an ex-con and those became his insecurities. Now, on top of it his son suddenly says that and it was his breaking limit.

P.S.: The violence was never justified even by Asian Parent Standards, but that's majorly because that's how he grew up. It isn't tough love, it's just the only language he knows to express himself (not to be thought of as an excuse, but his point of view).

Ya, that line almost brought me to tears, I mean most guys don't expect to be told they're loved from their sons, but to be told they're an embarrassment...that will literally break a guy up. No job is to be looked down upon, even if the world does, the family should never.

To each their own. I'm feeling so bad for their dads. Imagine risking your bright future for this. Jung Hyun might…
I can 100% understand both of them (the dads), they (the kids) will too in future. But maybe, just because it's them, it might work out. They are not taking the situation lightly and are actually planning out how to proceed in the future. The most important thing is of course finances, if education goes out of the window, career options will be dropping dead like flies. Plus there's the immense additional pressure that they themselves have to be happy now that the world is against them. If they somehow deal with these two things, the rest could be figured out as they're both academically bright as shown.

This drama is just...wow. The most unique (and best) thing about this drama is nobody's life is even close to perfect nor is any character, no one. Everyone has either a painful present or a painful past, and everyone's trying their best to become happy. Regardless of the end of a mini-story, the ending cannot be called perfect but it is way too real. Each of the episodes are tackling multiple radical issues ranging from debt, manipulation, lies, disability, poorness, childhood, adulthood, depression, divorce, teen pregnancy, accidents, mistakes, and a whole lot more to come. This might just be one of the best dramas I've ever watched. In fact, I'm reluctant to call this a 'drama', these are life lessons. The episodes 7 and 8 are so raw, you are immensely angry at some of the characters but still realise what they say or their point of view do make sense. And the rating is 8.1, Seriously?!

I didn't mind the ending, but I'm annoyed by the way it ended. It was rushed. The entire series was amazing without the last 20 minutes. They added so many happy things for the other characters and made the main characters story a side story. Plus I wanted to see the grown-up characters kinda reminiscing about the past, maybe a few cameos from older actors would have been nice? Or would it have been too expensive? Maybe the writer had more content planned but couldn't divide it equally among 16 episodes...

This was really excruciatingly painful to watch. The movie shows the worst possible sides of humanity when they can't even be called humans at this point, no amount of slurs can be enough to describe the antagonists portrayed here. I wanted to shatter my phone to pieces within 20 minutes into the movie. I wish I could say humans can't be this evil, but I just can't... This was one of those times when I really wanted this to have a cliche K-drama ending... On the other hand, legit kudos to both the child actors and the ones who played the villains, I cannot comprehend the difficulty they had faced mentally while filming out the scenes.

Career & distant are the 2 Main reason relationship drift apart for young/fresh lovers. It’s a natural progression…
Yup. But I don't want it happen to them. If they go separate ways, I don't want them to grow old and suddenly realise shit they could have worked it out that time and woosh they get back in contact and suddenly they get together. If they want be together, it'd rather should be due to feelings of the present and not regrets and memories of their past together.

I have to give it to the show, it's episode 15 and it's still 50-50 whether BYJ and NHD are together or not. I think they're not mainly due to the obliviousness of NHD's kid regarding BYJ. Either way it's gonna be realistic, some couples make it through the struggles of LDR through years and get together, some cannot handle the anxiety as it's not good for their personal mental health.

Whatever happens, it's nobody's fault as people do grow apart and fall in love with different people, otherwise one would be depressed as hell for the rest of their life if the first intense relationship didn't work out. Another thing, stop with unnecessary hate towards NHD's current husband, in case he doesn't turn out to be BYJ. It's not at all his fault at all, he didn't steal her, in fact it would be NHD fault if she married someone while being in love with someone else. In case, she didn't marry BYJ and someone else, I hope she did it because she moved on and sincerely loves him whosever it is and not because she was going miserable alone.

Of course there's the full chance of the writer and producer being geniuses and carrying out this skillful misdirection to keep the audience hooked, which worked, and they might as well get together in the end. What I'll not stand for however is some sucky ending that NHD divorced her previous husband and got back with BYJ after all. Make it clear cut, either get them together right now or never.

9.1? This once more proves to me that MDL ratings and I do not vibe lol. This drama is good but imo more in the…
Just stop bothering after 7.0, some of my favourite 8.5's are in the 7.0 ish range in MDL and some which I dropped are in the 7-8.5 range, some even touching almost 9. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna rate it as 8.5 as well but I'd rather prefer the overall rating to above it. Let's say the overall was 8.5, then I would have probably rated it as 8.0. Some weird ass reverse psychology maybe lol. Also the ratings right now are impulsive and by those who are watching the show weekly and the SOL tag is showing it's full effect. After it has been aired completely, many will binge, and show might come off as boring/slow. After the binge-watchers have rated the show, then only will the rating become stable. I'm guessing somewhere around 8.7-8.9.

Why'd she get hurt? She's probably gonna grow up to be some kind of activist/teacher/independent career woman given her forward thinking ahead of her times.
