i like that the main focus is really CSS's coming of age, learning about the world and her abilities, realising whats within reach and what she has to let go of, being fearless and having her heart broken.

after WRTW i was a disappointed Bai Feng Xi was sidelined for a lot of it so i'm really happy to spend this amount of time with CSS

(don't come for me, i enjoyed WRTW overall!)

oh god, i hope they expand the schedule bc i can't cope with that if its only 6 eps a week 😱

i find that flashbacks are way overused in cdramas but i'm waiting for the moment CSS flashes back to LBY telling the whole court that she is the best woman in the world, innocent and decisive, dares to love and hate, and is the only one for him 🙏

after these crumbs i need to gorge myself on sugar!

i think i read that LLTG aired earlier than planned and if i remember rightly WL said recently that they were still editing part 2 so it might be its not finished yet. perhaps they can still release the new eps while finishing the later ones tho 🤞

i think thats why he was accepted she was marrying LY and didn't interfere. LY represented that simple life that she said she was expecting considering her circumstances. when that went south he stepped up grandpa wan style!

I agree he wasn't flaunting his powers in a narcissistic way. i do think he was deliberately displaying his power in a grandiose way to give CSS the confidence to face those snobbish people.

like how qiqi's grandfather declared his love and commitment to her grandmother which gave her the courage to even cut her ear off rather than be bullied.

i think overhearing that conversation had a profound impact on how LBY believes a great husband behaves. his declaration to the court that CSS was the best woman in the world and the only one who could walk beside him also made me think of qiqi's grandparents and how he reacted when he heard CSS talk about them.

i think CSS is just too worried about falling victim to that power atm bc she doesn't know that LBY loves her or what love even is.

I really liked Ancient Detective. its a kinda murder mystery, ensemble, light romance drama with a good plot :)

i think his display of power, albeit to protect her, was so overbearing that it made her realise what she was getting herself into which made her worried she could never stand up to such power and be free to be herself (she doesn't really know him yet)

this might be the drama with the most satisfying slaps i've ever watched 😂

its a slow burn romance so manage your expectations there but the story, logic, cinematography, whole cast, acting is on point so its a good time imo :)

him eavesdropping on CSS when qiqi was telling her the story of her grandparents paid absolute dividends and she was moved by his ftw confidence <3
