Just finished ep 16 and I just can't believe the writers did this (aside YWY being a villain) is changing the…
i think it might be a more enjoyable experience to take the drama as a completely different thing as they have really only taken relatively few elements and characters from the novel. they are also using names of novel characters and giving them whole new characterisations (YWY omg!) so at this point anything is fair game!
i'm basically considering the drama as an au fanfic, much less stressful :)
i feel you, i ended up reading the whole web novel while waiting for this weeks eps which i have never ever done…
omg yes i'm waiting for blue whisper subs too fml. i tried to watch the bad subs and didn't want it to ruin the drama for me. I've lined up the web novel in case my patience wears out ๐
the Who Rules the World novel is completely different in terms of plot progression and, in some cases, character design and motivations. for some the drama has taken only the names of the characters and not their characterisations from the book.
the ML is waaay less obviously smitten and the CP spend quite a bit of time apart so if you want mushy feels i reckon you'll get more from the drama although you might find it more swoonworthy seeing novel Lanxi fall for xiyun as he's so implacable and cold
oooh i'm actually really enjoying Yu Wu Yuan's heel turn, i didn't see it coming from the earlier eps (altho the recent upcoming ep trailers spoilered the hell out of it)
In the book, Huang Chao was the vallain. YWY supported Huang Chao to beome the leader of the world; therefore…
i think huang chao is more the antagonist rather than the "villain" of the story as "villain" gives a connotation of "evil" which isn't really the case
Aaargh. While I'm happy for Netflixers who now get to watch this while its airing, I'm also a little anxious because…
maybe they just sold the rights to anglophone territories so the countries that already have it on WeTV can still watch it? we'll see i guess!
its weird to sell the show to neflix halfway through airing though, can't think of another time thats happened. Netflix shows a lot of airing kdramas but rarely airing cdramas (in the UK)
