i don't think people are criticising the ML because he's a man. its because he's a complete and utter a-hole. to everyone. relentlessly. all the time. the ones he ignores because they are beneath him are actually the lucky ones!
people aren't supporting the FL bc she's a woman but because she was bullied unmercifully for a year, thought it gave her brain tumors and got some petty revenge when she thought she was gonna die.
i'm gonna need the 3 ex secretaries to get in the mix properly or bugger off.
they've had more screen time than their plot points warranted but simultaneously not enough for me to care about them beyond feeling sorry for being berated and abused for 3 months by the ML
And to think that in an interview, he explained how money was so important to him because he grew up deprived…
i think the drama is showing us that he was not right to respond to grinding poverty by becoming mega rich and distancing himself from and looking down on "the poors "
im guessing/hoping part of his character development will be reconciling himself with his past, losing his shame and resentment, feeling empathy for the impoverished and understanding how dehumanising it was for his grandma to be unable to provide for him
im in love with this drama, it exceeded my cosmically high expectations. acting, script, cinematography, direction, editing is all on point for me and the chemistry is perfect they seem so effortlessly realistically comfortable with each other
the premise is super simple, the focus is on the relationship dynamic between the leads. if you're a twisty pacey plot person this probably won't be your cup of tea. which is cool, obvs :)
