okay so there's a confrontation at the end and just when you think the ML has outwitted everyone and is going to be okay he gets stabbed and it ends on a cliffhanger.

fwiw, the ending didn't affect my enjoyment of the drama because i knew there was a season 2 so in my mind the ML was going to recover!
