but i do think the writer has earned this (and from the preview it looks like it will be short lived) and its is line with what we know of MJ.
i can understand why she reacted like that because she hasn't been sleeping or eating properly, she is having money worries, taking on tutoring on top of her other freelance work, working though the night, she's been paranoid about being followed, worried that his dad might turn up and shout at her - girl is tired.
we know she is self reliant, looks out for herself and hates to be beholden to anyone else so its hard for her to unlearn that instinct and let herself lean on SG. she seems to see herself as the one who can teach him and help him grow and she has been struggling to be open and vulnerable in front of him. she's been making good progress with that but his dad showing up like that was too much.
i think thats why she wanted to leave it til tomorrow so she can rest up, get her shit together and gather her energy to deal with it.

yeah i like that she turned the noble idiocy trope of "i'm breaking up with you to protect you" on its head and she tells him that she wants to give up to protect herself.
the writer has laid the ground work well because we know that MJ is a self reflecting person who can identify her bad traits and can work on them, especially when she is motivated (albeit usually in an oblivious way) by SG

it really shows you can't judge a drama by its synopsis - i read the description before it aired and thought meh. randomly decided to watch bcoz it was on netflix and i like SSK and -bam- it is now my life
