I read a webtoon that has a story so similar it cant be coincidence! It's called "Bossy President" on Mangatoon.
Looking for this right now! The show was a little too crazy for my taste, but as a webtoon, I could probably get behind it. IDK if I could get into this as a novel or not. But illustration gets more leeway from me for some reason!
I am liking the drama, but it is such a struggle to take Kim Ji Suk seriously. He will always be the spineless weasel from Personal Taste. Didn't help that his character in this came across as an emotional coward rather than emotionally wounded.
It took me a few years, but I did just finish re-watching it. I was worth another watch. I think I actually liked it better this time, since I knew what was coming.
The ending would have been far more satisfying if either Shi Hyun or Soo Min died saving the other - Shi Hyun…
IDK, I feel like there was no way for Shi Hyun to be happy or reconcile all that had happened. So I was OK with his death. He just had a tragic life from start to finish. The good guys didn't win, but the bad guys didn't win either. There was some progress for the good guys - a lot of power players were removed, some good officers were kept from going down the rabbit hole and becoming like their senior officers (crooked or crooked-in-the-name-of-good). I don't think Shi Hyun would have survived Soo Min dying for him.
I thought the actress was fine, but the editing and scripting was off. It didn't give her much to do. Everything was kind of stilted and I wonder if it was a deliberate choice, like they were coached to perform that way.
To fit CITT into movie size they should have dropped a few storylines so they could focus on the main couple and the siblings (as they related to Yoo Jung), montaged the hell out of a few sequences, and tightened the editing. Keep the atmosphere and the heart of the story (who and why is Yoo Jung and can Seol accept him?), ditch the rest. Could be the author was too attached to her original material to be able to cut out as much as needed to be cut out to make it work in movie form. I don't regret watching it though.
Park Ki Woong did a fabulous job. He was so much more like how I remember Baek In Ho from the webtoon.
I've only finished episode 1, but already it makes no sense. "We brought you on so that you can prosecute the case with probable deniability like you did for Oh Tak, but instead of explaining it to you back at the office, or even just leaving you there, we will take you with us to the place were are going to illegally raid and engage in unsanctioned violence on a mass scale. Yeah, logic." This needs to get better. Fast.
Maybe starting in episode 2 Ji Soo will bring some much needed charisma to help gloss over glaring idiocy like this.
i think that oh tak was after hae jin for thinking that he was the killer of his daughter, maybe thats why he…
Yup. He started the Bad Guys team in order to get those three guys out of prison, specifically because of how they were tied to each other and his daughter's case.
This drama is not bad, but it has nothing to do with the original. I know it's just a spin off but at least I…
I've only finished episode 1 and I'm getting the feeling that chemistry is lacking. Much of what I loved about the first one was how they interacted as a team and the hidden connections between them. I felt that really set it apart from the typical corruption drama. I hope this one finds something else to set it apart from melee fights. I'll keep with it for awhile. Hope it improves since so many rave about it.
Same here although you posted this 15 days ago. I'm on episode 6 right now and I already started fast forwarding…
I did finish it! It had it's moments, but it just repeats itself over and over and over again. I was pretty miffed at Lak - how many times can you say you love a girl and intend to fight for her, reject the girl, promise you really mean to fight for her this time, reject her, promise you really REALLY mean it this time, reject girl... and then have the nerve to be all butt-hurt as she is more and more reluctant to believe you each time.
"You're giving up on us Mussaya!"
"Dude, you seriously just told me you wanted us to marry the siblings next door. Worst. Boyfriend. Ever."
I'm only on episode 6. Wondering how long I can keep going. There isn't enough story to this story right now. They aren't showing us anything to convince me that she'd stick around for all this abuse. I think she'd just tell them all she gave them a chance and they failed as a family and at being decent people in general, tell Lak and Nit to come visit her sometime, and go back home. Except for liking Lak and Nit, she really doesn't have an incentive to stay somewhere where everyone belittles her (except Nit and the boy next door). Just Ugh. Time to start leaning on the fast forward button I guess.
I'm only on episode 1, but it's cracking me up. This is the second show I've seen Mik get bitten by his leading lady. I guess I'll need to watch more of his dramas and see if this is just a thing that happens to him in everything. LOL.
Open ending - everyone has a Chance to be happy, you just don't get to see them actually in a state of bliss. Biggest disappointment for me was the face-off with the bad guy was a little underwhelming.
