I have put this temporary on hold for a little while until some more eps come out as I don’t think I will ever fully recover is this drama breaks my heart.

I would say if you put ‘Autumn Ballad’ into production quality of ‘Dream of Splendour’, cut the last 32:19min of the of final episode and swap the actors over between the two for the second leads (I find Dream of Splendour SLs are better in the acting department)….I would have the perfect drama 😍

Oh and for every drama I now demand to have Chen Lian slipped into somewhere…he was the true hero

That annoyed me a bit as well. I feel they could have had the same angst, character growth etc (you will understand when you watch it) without the ‘misunderstanding’ they main couple had good healthy communication in the run up and felt a little awkward in how the writers took it as it was out of character. Maybe you will see it differently then me :)

I would say the ‘misunderstanding’ sort of starts in 27 and officially finishes in 36….not really a breakup, more not communicating the dealing of the inner ‘feels’.

So the official episode rewatch playlist for me:
1-26
27-32 skip through the unnecessary hardships and the script writers turning a rare perfectly good ML into a spineless weasel of ‘feels’
33-36 with possible minor impatient skipping to watch the MLs attempts at seeking forgiveness for being a spineless weasel of ‘feels’
37-40

2nd half lost little of its refreshing charm for me. I feel it kind of lost it’s way after 26 trying and never really recovered fully

And we are done…. giving an 8.5-9, could have been a 10 but i was unnecessarily troped for too many episodes, how I would watch this again is in below spoiler…

you were so close dramaland, so close…for me, purely on healthy, adult MC fangirling; Autumn Ballad still wins out 2022 by being 9-9.5 but lost full marks for everything that happened after exactly 8:27min in the final ep

Yeah she has really started to come into her own now, her poise and acting is becoming more mature. Without trying to sound too patronising being a female closer to their 40s than they would like. I noticed it with “who rules the world” her posture was so much more elegant and confident, but that does come with age and it’s good to see her getting more meaty roles representing this.

Hmmm after watching some of clips/trailers, which differ largely between serious and light-fun. I am not sure how to place this one. I will definitely plan to watch it, however I think I am going to need a few more eps out there to get a feel for the atmosphere. It looking very well done and nice to see Zhao Lu Si in some more serious roles.

Plus not sure anyone else is finding this, but it really does remind of something I seen before many dramas ago and I can’t put my finger on what it is…

I am having my Plan to Watched list passed down in my will to all my future generations. It will be completed no matter the cost, after my passing it will be their turn to take up the burden.

Currently on ‘A Dream of Splendour’, then probably ‘master of my own’. That should get through long enough to have nice batch of Alchemy eps to watch. just finished ‘if voice has memory’ and ‘From now on, showtime’ ….too many dramas not enough hours in the day. I keep trying to cull my plan to watch list, but I find that it never gets shorter, I remove one drama and replace it with more.

Oh it’s a struggle, I am distracting myself with other dramas to get me through, however I keep finding myself opening Netflix hand I can hear it whispering at me. I would start now but I know that my productivity will fall of a cliff at work for 4 days a week while I wait for the next ep to drop….not sure my boss will understand or except my defence that I was behind on my projects because my obsession mode had be activated and I was stalking kdramas on Netflix, YouTube and deep in this comments section.

I will break, I always do, this drama, my general insomnia and 3am will become good friends 😁
