@Sara Machiato —Your theory about Ep. 2/4 epilogues is so compelling! I had assumed that all the epilogues were…
I think Min Kyung wants to end things right now simply because she's really hurt. In every exchange in this drama, I've expected things to go one way because of what I'm used to in dramas, but things have almost always gone in a more true-to-life way. Hwi Oh was her ally and she thought she could rely on him, but when she was really scared about thinking her ex was back and wanted someone to believe her, he simply didn't. It was heartbreaking to watch that.
And great thoughts about the epilogues! I'll have to go back and rewatch them now! Thanks 🙂
No clue whether this can be considered a spoiler. I let you decide.Honestly, I can't see how they can fix everything…
I don't know how they're going to fit it in either. I'm hoping the final episode is a little longer to accommodate everything. Episode 12 was almost 40 minutes long, so maybe...
I should have gotten over it a few episodes ago, but I keep being pleasantly surprised at how this drama handles situations and relationships in such a realistic way. I thought episode 12 was amazing. And wow - the acting is truly fantastic!
the preview of ep 13!! my heart is breaking!! :(( please tell me this is not a tragic!!
From a basic storytelling viewpoint, the fact that there is funeral scene (either real within the story or possibly presented as a "what if" scenario) for the FL in the preview for episode 13 greatly improves the probability of a happy ending in episode 16. I wouldn't worry too much :)
I'm still watching. I think all the unconstructive straight-up hate comments in this thread may have pushed some…
I apologize to you as well - I honestly wasn't trying to pick a fight. I thought it was a pretty intersting debate about freedom of expression in an environment like this.

No need to apologize! You didn't say anything wrong 🙂 Marshmallow-Chocoholic and I weren't fighting - at least I didn't think we were fighting, but apparently she did. I was actually enjoying having a discussion with her about what constitutes unacceptable behavior on a site like this and she seems to have thought I was trying to fight with her by stating my take on things. Ah well... misunderstandings happen. My apologies for my part in making you feel uncomfortable.

I'm not looking for a fight at all, hahaha. We, for the most part, actually agree - it's just that, from what I understand from your writing, you think hate comments are okay because they are expressing an opinion, while I think hate comments are not okay because they intimidate people with opposing opinions from expressing what they want to express. And we're debating, not arguing (at least from my viewpoint). I've actually found this exchange kind of fun, in a way. I'm sorry your interpretation of my words and actions are so different from what I intended when I was replying.

Yeah, I miss it too. I haven't seen today's episode yet... I may wait until tomorrow so I'm not left hanging and can watch them together, haha. And thank you for the compliment 🙂 I hope you're having a good day too! Please continue to enjoy the show!

Ah... it appears I've made a liar out of myself - here I am, back for another round.
I was in no way implying any stifling whatsoever of free-thought or the opinions that come with that. Quite the opposite, actually. If one side in any given forum is expressing their thoughts in a way that makes the other side uncomfortable to express opposing thoughts, that is an actual silencing of free-thought and expression. And, from what I've seen from messages with other people and even comments in this current thread where we are debating, that is what has happened here, to some extent, in regard to the hate comments. My point is that, in a forum like this, we should all be aware of the environment and express our opinions in a way that takes into account that this is a public space. The actual content of any given opinion is irrelevant in my argument here because what I'm discussing is the way they are expressed - I'm not on any side when it comes to this except the side of thoughtfulness, respect, and decorum when expressing an opinion, no matter what it may be, in a public forum. For the record (and to use your terminology), there have been a few comments here and there on the "defender" side of things which have also contributed to the toxic atmosphere as a whole, and I'm equally as upset about those. Also for the record, I'm not annoyed with people not acknowledging more positive things - as already mentioned, I couldn't care less if they're acknowledging positive things or not as long as they do it in a way that doesn't make people with a differing opinion feel uncomfortable. This forum is nowhere near the worst I have seen on the internet, but it has still acquired a level of toxicity potent enough to make at least a few people uncomfortable and drive them away - and that, in and of itself, is the stifling of thought and opinion.
I will thank you - this has, arguably (pun intended), been the most interesting exchange I've had in this comment section. I may not be having a good day, but at least there have been a few thought-provoking moments in it thanks to this.

Yes, I do like this series, although I think "defender" is an interesting choice of words. I don't really feel like I have to defend this drama - I mean, after all, it's just a drama. I have, however, tried to explain what the good qualities are that I see in it when I think there's a chance for a good discussion between either like-minded people who are also enjoying it or people with an opposing view who make good points to discuss. Maybe I do overstep occasionally and seem like I'm defending the drama itself, but I'm usually pretty conscious of trying to avoid that territory as much as possible.
If I am a defender of something, though, it's hopefully of the idea that public forums such as this should be a place where people can go and respectfully voice their opinions in a way that doesn't drive other people with differing opinions away. Granted, a lot of the people on this thread are expressing their like or dislike in a respectful and constructive manner, but there are enough toxic comments to make people not want to be active anymore, and I think that's a problem. I don't really call comments like "this writer should be fired" voicing an opinion in a constructive manner that's respectful to the community as a whole, and that's just one of many actual comments on this thread I could choose from as an example. If you want to see how a respectful comment expressing dislike can be a positive contribution to a forum like this, feel free to read this comment by Dreamy: https://kisskh.at/61489-destruction#comment-6415071 (specifically, the second comment made by Dreamy on that post.) I know not everyone will make comments about why they dislike the show the way it's done in Dreamy's post, but even a fraction of that effort on the part of the people who decided to make this their dumping ground would have made this whole thread a lot healthier.
And I apologize - I'm not having the best day in general right now, so I'm a little bit more passionate in this comment than I would usually be. But, even on a better day than today when I would have expressed my thoughts in a more congenial manner, I would still feel the same about what I've seen for weeks now in this thread. Some people may indeed have gotten sick of the drama and stopped commenting here, I honestly don't know, but it's probable. I do know for a fact, however, that some people have definitely gotten sick of the overall atmosphere of this thread. Seeing as how my original reply to muskan_agrawal was only to let them know at least part of the reason why they were seeing less activity on this thread and not to get into a debate, I will respectfully end my part of this here. My apologies if it makes you feel like I'm leaving you hanging with more things to say.

Not according to people I've talked to through messages. Look at the comment below mine if you want further proof. This thread is pretty toxic. Honestly, the people who are fed up with the drama are the majority of the ones who still keep posting over and over. But whatever.
Did everyone stop watching this drama?? There used to be so many spoilers before.. Now no one cares :(
I'm still watching. I think all the unconstructive straight-up hate comments in this thread may have pushed some people away who were interested in discussing the drama.
I agree! I love all the actors but I feel there's just something missing in the plot. Also, I thought the character…
As someone who loves this show, I've got to say that it's really refreshing to see someone take the time to explain why they don't like this drama. And I do agree with you about the comedy - nothing has really stood out as being funny for me. Thanks for writing this :)
i wanna watch this drama but i'm so conflicted because of the comments here. i just completed law school and youth…
If this drama sounds interesting to you, watch a couple episodes and see if it's working for you. I'd say to go into it without expectations or comparing it to how Korean dramas usually work - for example, there's no antagonist in the story. Also, don't believe the comedy tag. It does have an occasional humorous moment, but I don't find them to be the most memorable parts of the show.
The scriptwriter lucked out with Park Bo Young, Seo In Guk, director and OST singers. Maybe because I've watched…
Yeah, I think if people go into this expecting a storytelling style like we see in the majority of Korean dramas, regardless of genre, they're likely to feel incredibly disappointed. Personally, I've found the writing in this to be very well thought out and quite beautiful, but it is really easy to see why other people find it boring. If you do keep watching, I hope you find enough along the way to make it an enjoyable experience :)
I think one of the breaking points between people who are really enjoying this drama (like myself) and people…
Hahaha, I'm glad this has been such an enjoyable viewing experience for you too :)
I do have some rough ideas about where the story is headed (and have posted an occasional one here), but actually haven't put that much effort into it. To be honest, I'm enjoying the ride this drama is offering so much that I've been quite content to let the drama unfold and not anticipate the events much - which, as I wrote in my original post here, is probably why I'm enjoying the relationship between our leads so much. There is a lot of information we've been given about how this could turn out - the parallels between TDK and god are undeniable, for one thing - but given the wonderfully unexpected and unconventional way this story has been told so far, I wouldn't be surprised if the writer took all the information we've been presented with and came up with a satisfying ending very few people were anticipating. Personally, I'd be fine with either a sad or happy ending. But, given the various mental and emotional struggles TDK has faced from the very first line in this drama until now, I'd say it's a little more likely to have a happy ending - unless the writer has decided to go full-on Romeo and Juliette "star-cross'd lovers", that would be the most emotionally satisfying way to end this story for the viewers who have watched TDK experience little more than constant hardship from an early age, and face that hardship in a largely undefeated fashion. We all like to believe bravery is rewarded :)
