Glad you are able to enjoy it as a standalone, but some other non-readers felt it was rushed. Did you feel that? I am biased cuhs I read it but feel they cut down a lot and shortened the eps/back story which impacts the flow

I don’t mind changing the whole rebirth situation due to censorship but I am not pleased with them cutting down on so much of the back story. It’s good to avoid fillers but this is one of the few well anticipated dramas that I’ve seen with only 30 min per episode. Considering we only have 36 eps, there isn’t time to tell the main plots. Also am not fond of them creating conflict between the leads at the beginning (which didn’t need to happen at all, there are many other conflicts in the story). I love the cast (looks like the face swapping was done decently) but my first impression is that they could’ve done better with the flow and quality of the drama

I heard rebirth was sorta used in Blossom. But drama watchers can correct me if I am wrong

If you also feel this way and didn’t read the novel, then is really telling that they did the cast dirty by cutting down so much on their work. 😭

Lin Shuang He was my fave after the leads 😭 he brought so much life and humor

The number of times the author described the ML’s handsome appearance in the novel was hilarious hahaha. Never failed to remind readers on that

Lol I don’t get why they needed to sow a discord between the leads, it is really unnecessary. We need the time to talk about other matters of the plot…not sure how I feel about this now especially with them cutting out and shortening the eps. I am quite worried but let’s see.

Recommend reading the novel after the drama is complete so you won’t be constantly comparing like me and then get disappointed 😭

Perhaps this is why eps are so short? That’s so unfortunate, all the hard work from the staff

Yeah I am concerned because even with the changes and removal of certain aspects of the story, it is still a short drama to tell the main plot. I would hate it to be rushed towards the end. I guess we will see.

Yeah I think it was death by a thousand cuts or something like that. I liked the whole plot of them revealing the truth and XJ confronting HRF in prison

Yeah it looks like they make SML do a lot of chasing in the drama. Hopefully it doesn’t drag the plot because I liked the way it was handled in the novel (more subtle) and the SML knew he didn’t have a chance. Romance was also not his priority. We shall see how it plays out here - hoping for the best, that they cover the main plots and wrap it up neatly
