Mo Fang and Fu Rongjun are technically one because in the novel Fu Rongjun's true love was Mo Fang and it was…
thanks for sharing! makes sense now. especially with their scenes together - hate/love relationship. Especially when FRJ tries to help MF when MF/Fu Sheng were trapped and unconscious. I was wondering why FRJ was doing so much LOL.
I prefer the drama FRJ because at least he wasn't heartbroken there
Finally finished the drama! I felt the drama withdrawals today after watching ep 38 last night, and didn't have time to watch ep 39 until today. Ep 39 was a great way to tie everything together with a cute and funny epilogue. Thank you for the entertaining comments, I really enjoyed discussing the show with everyone. I'm sure this was a very comforting drama for those (including the main leads) who felt regret over the ending of PA. It was amazing to see ZLY and LGX again after several years, they've grown as actors and have even better chemistry. I loved them way more in this series! I can't help but ship the actors now T__T (I need to stop this lol).
I will say that this was a much easier watch compared to other xianxias - a simple plot without too much angst or unnecessary misunderstandings. I loved our amazing SL - a strong, courageous heroine who never wavered in pursuing her beliefs and principles. Always fighting for her people. I loved the dynamic she had with XZ, who was the yin to her yang.
There were definitely moments that felt a bit slow, with too many flashbacks - I think they could've easily made this drama to 30-35 eps. But overall the acting, chemistry, solid soundtrack, cinematography and special effects made this a memorable series.
It is actually both. He wanted to be with her in the afterlife but...he also basically said the line from the…
Agreed would’ve been nice to hear him say that line because of how clingy (in a good way) he is. But also totally understandable that they kept it concise because I feel like it might’ve been too lengthy with the cheesy lines and long gazes in a drama format haha
Why did XZ say that he is afraid they cannot end up together before he leaves SL to connect the abyss to the heaven in ep 37? Scared that he won’t make it back to her on time?
There was an excerpt in the novel that wasn’t part of the script, maybe he was referring to being scared of not being with her in the afterlife?:
Ch 76: “I’m very scared.” Shen Li may have an afterlife, but after his death, he would either scatter away into ashes or become a wisp of vitality among heaven and earth… He embraced Shen Li even tighter, “If you run away with someone else, I won’t be able to get over it…”
Everybody here is raving about XZ’s character while I’m here thinking the gold standard is SL, such strong…
I love her. I love the battle theme that plays whenever she fights. Always fighting for her ppl, and never abandoning her principles even for love. And as Mofang says, love her in her ponytail with the wind blowing her hair
Okay so in ep 33/34 when SL looked into XZ’s past when he was wallowing in loneliness - did I understand right that he became a mortal to experience what it was like? He had a different face so wasn’t sure lol.
I thought XZ only went down to the mortal realm once, which was the time when he met SL
I have completed! BEAUTIFULLY done!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Tje best XianXia for me so far in 2024! A very…
I have 5 eps to go even tho I spoiled it for myself hehe. But because they wrapped it up nicely in the end, I am very pleased and look forward to watching the rest. I am so happy the author wrote the script (need to finish the novel too!) The cinematography, special effects, soundtrack and visuals were top notch - almost like watching a film. I totally agree with your sentiments on the flashbacks, they could’ve cut it in half but overall a very enjoyable watch. I already want the leads to collaborate again haha. Maybe a modern series the next time?
