What’s everyone’s thought on XY’s feeling toward CX? I believe it surpassed that of a family love especially from what she said in the novel when they were “dying” from the poison - that he was always the one she missed and thought of when she was tortured (and this was before Jing was in her life). Ofc she didn’t consider him after they reunited and started this journey to power together since he would not be able to fulfill what she looked for in a partner. But he always had a place in her heart

Same! If they followed closely to the novel up til now, why can’t they do the same for S2? Way too much to cover in only 21 eps

Lowkey my fave part of the novel was his possessiveness of XY lmao so toxic of me. But honestly his unrequited love for her made me 😭

Omg it was so funny when she peaked at his true form, they cannot cut that out! I’ll have to recover my anger on any deleted scenes by reading the novel again haha

Omg that was the most exciting scene! And how CX was so devastated thinking XY had died from the assassination attempt (there were a couple when XY was running away with Left Ear too). CX’s confession scene when XY finds out from XinYue on his love for her, and the poison scene, and where XY wanted to escape from CX and went to the jade mountain, etc. also her scene with her mom! That will be very heartbreaking

I am rewatching S1 and you can clearly see they voiced over the original script where the main leads (when they were kids) said they would marry each other and also the part about her mother being the disciple, CX clearly says “daughter” lol. Not like we haven't had dramas in the past where cousins are engaged.

Yeah unfortunately leaked scripts tend to be true but that totally changes the whole thing, but the author wrote the script right?

Tbh I have a soft spot for CX so was really looking forward to ALL their scenes i.e. when he thought she died in the sea and lost his mind, his love confession, the poison scene under the tree, when he makes her wear the hairpin, etc

Omg that totally changes the main plot in season 2, and pretty much his character! Don’t tell me it’s because of censorship, not like they haven’t had lead characters in the grey area before.

I also thought it was weird that they made XY’s mother a disciple instead of the daughter of Xiyan Empress - to avoid the taboo of the main leads being cousins (which wasn’t a taboo back in the day).

What big change did you hear about CX? Honestly looking forward to his scenes the most - I have a soft spot for him and am probably one of the few who love him and XY (tbh love all the guys with her but his character tugs the heartstrings)

Why does it feel like they changed some of the scenes in the storyline?

- Jing getting bitten by some object (don’t recall that in the novel)
- XY wearing her dress and CX telling her Jing is dead. In the novel he hears that she put on the dress to marry Jing so didn’t have the heart to see it
- XY holding a knife to CX, those lines sound different. Hope they won’t take out the most intense scene where she poisons him and herself

There is still so much to cover and so many important scenes! I’m really worried how it’ll play out since they cut the eps to 21 eps 😭

Yeah I don’t think they really went into detail on his battle scene in the novel, we get more of his POV in the drama which is nice!

Omg the angst!!! How can they possibly wrap everything up in 21 eps, there is so much to cover! I hope they don’t cut out scenes and changes things considering it has followed pretty closely to the novel so far 😭

Wasn’t planning on watching this series. Ngl part of it is because I’m always wary of xianxias (many follow similar storylines,l) and skeptical of how the chemistry between ym and gj will turn out. But watched the first few anyway (for jokes?). Am I right to guess that A Lai is Yaya’s idol? They will make an intriguing couple (assuming they are a future pair). But the aesthetics and CGI are quite good.

I think I will to start watching the series after looking through snippets of the eps along the way. It looks like a slice of life drama and the romantic development seems natural - esp the confession scene. Nothing grand or over the top, something you can see between everyday ppl!

Exciting! Please tell me how to stop shipping the actors looool. I know I shouldn’t because he has a gf but ugh they are like yin and yang 😂

😭 😭 😭 they are too cute. Maybe I need to rewatch their scenes. I think they are releasing the ep with the main cast in some variety show on the 11th right?

I’m about midway through the novel so look forward to reading the rest in detail. So glad they remained faithful to the story. It definitely has a simpler plot, and is more romance focused, but love how it stands out from other xian xia without the misunderstandings and unnecessary angst. Leads were much more mature
