Why did it feel like he had some feelings toward SL in the end. Looks like he was watching out for her when she was grieving but also waiting?

Okay so in ep 33/34 when SL looked into XZ’s past when he was wallowing in loneliness - did I understand right that he became a mortal to experience what it was like? He had a different face so wasn’t sure lol.

I thought XZ only went down to the mortal realm once, which was the time when he met SL

I can imagine her father rolling his eyes all the time if he saw XZ’s antics. That thought makes it even more bittersweet with Feng Lai’s sacrifice

I have 5 eps to go even tho I spoiled it for myself hehe. But because they wrapped it up nicely in the end, I am very pleased and look forward to watching the rest. I am so happy the author wrote the script (need to finish the novel too!) The cinematography, special effects, soundtrack and visuals were top notch - almost like watching a film. I totally agree with your sentiments on the flashbacks, they could’ve cut it in half but overall a very enjoyable watch. I already want the leads to collaborate again haha. Maybe a modern series the next time?

So tragic, and his love for SL was true. But that doesn’t take away the fact that his actions ended up leading to the deaths of many. He had to atone for that, and perhaps did it to make things a little less hard for SL since deep down, she probably doesn’t have the heart to really kill him.

If only he was brought up under a different circumstance.

Watched that snippet and damn it was an emotional scene. Kudos to the actors, maybe the familiarity they had from working together previously helped them deliver in that one scene they shared!

Lol going crazy refreshing and waiting to stream the eps. I did manage to see the last bit of ep 39 raws and looks like they end it at that scene where SL tells XZ she is pregnant after he proposes, and he chases after her. The way the actor looked while running was pretty funny. No wonder why it became a meme 😂

I just watched it and was also like wtf hahaahah were they switching roles for fun?

I’m slowly reading the novel from the beginning (even though I know the main stuff the happens in the end). Got to chapter 31 and couldn’t help but be amused because it was a foreshadowing of SL and XZ’s future together:

“The house he lived in, that burned down, had been rebuilt in a slightly different style . It was inevitable, so many decades had passed since she left .
She stood there in front of the gates for a while, watching the children run around . They were playing and laughing, making a general ruckus and disturbing the peace . This was certainly not a scene she would have ever seen in his courtyard . He had always preferred peace and quiet .”

Little did she know what his second wish will be - and it’s not peace and quiet haha.

Ahhhh I’ve been refreshing the drama page and forum/weibo and am ready but not ready for the finale!
