One reason I absolutely loved this show was because I can relate to Yori a lot. I am a guy who was also bullied in my all boys boarding highschool for being "Feminine" although not gay. But there was a double standards to how other are viewed and how I am. With people around always questioning my act and going like. "why do you sing? it's so girly, sing like a Man" "talk like a man" "Men doesn't do that" "why do you have female trait, It's Odd and gay" "Why Watch dramas? it's so girly" And many more comments that were pretty much worse gossiping behind my backs and building up rumours that I never even knew about, and even being backstabbed by those you think are close with it. It was pretty hard to get pass 4 years in the school like that.
so when I watched this and saw Yori. I wanted to give him a hug. because I saw myself in him and cried for that reason.

Because for me I like Xianxia ( Typically their Mythological tale where you have that. a lot) and a fan of the perfect looking Fantasy set-up and doll like stuff 😭( Not always tho! depends on genre I'm watching) But yeah LLTG wasn't xianxia nor wuxia. it was Core Historical drama and there are certainly dramas like that. Tales like New life Begins ( domestic drama) Yanxi palace, The King's Woman and stuff.

Recently Historical Kdrama have grown to become my least Favourite type of things in drama and I always get bored at them. like maybe because I'm already too engrossed in historical Chinese dramas? by their Aesthetics and beautiful costume set choice and variety of styling and set-up? As Someone who Loves this genre and can say I've watched most in the genre. I can say...It being the main focus of the show. Like Typical genre bending is Rare. like in Sungkyunkwan Scandal and You are beautiful etc. What we only get especially in Historical is basically FL needs to do something or mission in a certain EP has to dress up as a guy. But it's basically so not the main focus or theme. just subplot or Scene. And personally don't have a problem with them making her look like a guy because I already have it in my head that they Disguised and I always go with the logic. so he is a pretty boy 😂
