I don't know why but the excitement I had for this show suddenly disappeared similar to YW's (alleged) interest…
I like the YH-YJ, JW-JH & SS-JS ship but my concern is that all these pairs seem like an "only option" for the people involved, not their choice.
Like YJ saying "Who else would choose me?", SS getting swayed by YW, JS by literally every girl he spends time with but still both of them choosing eachother like a safety net. YW-CA is on the edge of the cliff. Only JH-JW seem to have the potential to form a stable relationship as both of them are cautious but I can't afford to ship them after the recent turn of events.
CA, SS & JH seem sincere so my heart goes out to them, we all have our favourites so no hard feelings here.
I don't know why but the excitement I had for this show suddenly disappeared similar to YW's (alleged) interest in CA. Exchange 2 was a serendipitous occurence & Hyun Gyu-Hae Eun's story (which was the heart of it) is rare to say the least. We were on our toes till the last ep & each ep gave us butterflies and eye rolling moments filled with just the right amount of tension. The cast was tangled up in love lines but we could feel the bonding they had with eachother despite everything.
In this show the cast seem to have gotten closer to eachother, there are intersecting love lines & siblings have diverse but cute chemistry yet something feels off. It's feels like there is a lot of gap in communication, lack of group dynamics & inefficient planning of the dates. They all rarely had dinner together, no group games or ice breaking sessions & sloppy use of the siblings link. The 2nd phone date match was a complete waste of time as it could've been done through texts. Timing is everything in a dating show & somehow it got twisted in a very un-entertaining way to our disappointment.
Hoping that it'll get better but honestly at this point, even watching them end up together might feel underwhelming (so much that I can't ship anyone sincerely). There's a lot left to be desired...
Woaaaah YW what an effin red flag. Like who is this on my screen right now! I don't even recognize him holy molly.…
Exactly. He didn't even look at her during the boat ride, was visibly uncomfortable but still lies (even to his sibling) with a straight face. I don't understand what he's after. I wish that his actions were half as defined as his muscles.
I was initially pissed off with CH for nudging CA towards JS & away from YW but he was right. YW feels like a…
JH & JW seem like a good match. They along with YJ & YH were the only couple to have strengthened their relationship in Singapore.
JS & SS are in uncertain waters. YW & CA have a crack. At this point I wish to see stable relationships & fun filled group dynamics instead of useless love triangles but the preview is concerning.
I was initially pissed off with CH for nudging CA towards JS & away from YW but he was right. YW feels like a wolf in sheep's clothing. YW is sly, cowardly & inconsiderate. At least JS dares to disagree, express his feelings directly & is curious about the other person. JS lead SS on but he kept telling her that he would like to interact with everyone & even sent messages to others, so SS knew. JS & SS have turbulent & chaotic moments but they also have sweet & considerate ones. They vibe well, are eventually honest about everything & don't bother pretending now (as they have had their share of conflicts).
On the other hand YW, despite having plenty of chances (they go to 3 different locations) doesn't convey his opinions. He could have said that he wanted to have fun instead of talking all the time, he could have been honest about preferring dynamic rather than stable relationships & he could have choosen to end the date instead of extending it. He extended the date not cuz he liked being with her but because felt like going home early instead of visiting new places would be a bummer. This man keeps sending the wrong signals & when she follows he feels threatened & uncomfortable. Does this even make any sense?
He chased after her (for whatever reason) & now that she's into him (in a deeper & realistic sense), he wants to pull out but realised that it's too late so thought that he might as well put up with this act for a few more days. This is heart breaking & no one deserves to be treated this way.
As JH said, not just the dishes they ate but everything else too (like taking his solo pics) seems to be matched to YWs taste, with CA trying too hard to fit in, keep the conversation going & making YW feels special.
All this cliches are okay because that's what forms the story but if she dragged the Villian arc that's just one…
It's not that cliches themselves but the overuse of them is sabotaging or weakening the plot. A few topping or even a little extra tastes good but an overload of them numbs the tastebuds (contrary to stimulating them) to a point where you can't differentiate what's what.
The plot is beautiful with a soulful ost & an amazing cast. It just feels "아깝다" in HI's words. The last 3 eps didn't stand up to the previous ones but watching Beak-Hong get a much deserved happy ending would wrap it all well I think
List of cliche plot points deployed by the writer:
•Rich FL/ Poor ML •Memory loss •Chronic illness •Miscarriage causing misunderstandings •ML being the life saviour of FL •Childhood connection/ First love •Overbearing In-laws triggering divorce •The "Chaebol" power struggle •Obsessive & evil SML •Hidden/ Swapped identify (ES & his mom, Soo Cheol & Da Hae's kid, HI while working as an intern) • One gullible person causing the downfall of the family •A dual spy, a private detective & a hidden place at home •Adultery involving a mistress outsmarting everyone •ML & FL facing near death situations at crucial times
I don't see the point in Eun Seong pretending to have saved HI (by breaking the car's glass). He dug his own grave as: 1) She's bound to realise that HW was the one who actually tried saving her & 2) His (ES's) own mother tried to kill her, so he shouldn't have mentioned this incident at all
ES shouldn't be hurting the person he loves. His mother claims to love him but her actions prove otherwise. She controls his life & disregards his feelings under the name of love & though he resents her (for that exact reason), he's doing the same with HI. Love isn't about obsessing over, controlling or manipulating people, it's all about believing, sacrificing & offering unconditional support. Sadly ES & his mother don't seem (even marginally) capable of that & therefore have no right to expect it from others.
I hope that at least JS knows what he's upto. This guy is all over the place & as SS says he is a weak person (who tries to cover his insecurities & boost his ego by seeking external validation). He's annoying on one side but I kind of feel bad for him as he seems like a sweet brother. Maybe he's afraid of getting his heart broken but that doesn't justify hurting/misleading others. I hope that neither him nor anyone would sheds tears during this show due to avoidable misunderstandings.
People are getting excited as their ghost ship YW x SS got mentioned. And there's me who despite loving YW x CA so much, can't help but wish for a slight possibility of CA X JH. I just hope for one date/ candid conversation b/w them.
I like Yoon Jae but Jiwon doesn't have reality dating show watchable charm for me. Plus she's so overbearing,…
Agree, JW is taking it too seriously yet lightly. I now understand why YJ told her to be careful as everyone is precious.
This show is designed to make them feel at home & be themselves instead of trying too hard (like in Singles Inferno). JW & JS are taking it as a challenge. And JW kind of puts her brother down in a not so pleasant way, hope they can sort out their feelings instead of hiding them under the rug.
Okay, I just finished Ep. 14 and it was actually pretty good, though... minus that last-minute appearance of Eun…
It's not about Eun Seong's screen time, it's the "key timing" He appears at the most vulnerable, delicate, sweet & endearing moments & turns them sour. The first thing that he does after Hae In wakes up post surgery is bitch about Hyun Woo, even before asking if she's okay or giving her words of comfort or encouragement
woah after watched eps 8 , Jung sub is more red flag than before . now he suddenly attracted and gastlighting…
He might seem polite & caring but he is being very rude intentionally or not. He should stop misleading people & really stop comparing himself visually to every other guy in the house.
—SS should pick “None” for the rest of the show bc JS already stated he liked someone more than her so she’s…
Exactly. Taunting someone for “keeping their options open” is not something that JS can comment on (if he has a conscience). He seems to think that he’s the only smart one out there but I feel like he’s being really dense & dumb by rushing things & rubbing off his arrogant & stubborn self on people.
